Latest version of the Blood Angels list

Changes:

-Storm Raven stats+weapons changed
-Storm Raven formation to 300pts
-Red Thirst rule added + Terminators renamed to 'Blood Angels Terminators'
-FF value changed on Predator infernus
-Additional Assault marine stands changed to +2 stands for 50pts
-Storm Ravens added as a transport option for Assault Marines

Have at it, I'll update armyforge in the next couple of days

The Storm Raven hurricane bolters are probably meant to be the same as on the crusader (they're the same thing and stats afterall), no? Might as well use the weapon name from the approved lists "2× Hurricane Bolters (15cm) Small Arms EA(+1)" to make things consistent.

Great call on the assault marines starting at 4 with non-upgrade option for +2.

nothing that I saw.

I don't think anyone's taking the stormraven transports at 75 a pop too often but that's not your fault. It's right in that magical spot that makes it too hard to price without pissing someone off! ;D Because EA is a game of activation counts upgrades just don't get taken that much in the competitive environment but that is what it is. I'd be glad to be wrong however! The gunship squadron appears just about right for 300.

Thank the maker there's none of the silly SS missile madness anymore.

You could breakdown the upgrade into separate lines like we do for LRs:

two for 125,
three for 200,
four for 250

Or whatever.

Thanks for the update, captPiett and I felt we got some utility when we used those SR stats. I think we owe you one more, hoping to take care of it this month or early next.

Is the upgrade limit intentional or a carry over from a template?

I've uploaded a new version with the upgrade limit removed, it was a carry over from a template

I'd rather keep the stormravens at a flat 75pts each for now, I think they are slightly better than a land raider, certainly with their increased move and extra FF attacks, while nobody ever takes land raiders as transports, I think storm ravens would put the final nail in the coffin of the LR as a transport if they were costed the same

my final thought on the list is we add the option to turn one unit of assault marines into sanguinary guard (if the supreme commander is added to an assault marine formation, the entire formation becomes fearless, however if the supreme commander is killed, the formation immediately suffers D3 additional blast markers) basically the Ethereal rule built in to the supreme commander

any thoughts? I'd personally never bother with it, but it gives the fluff nuts a use for their minis

I like it. Agreed I typically wouldn't take it to a tournament, but it adds in a distinct Blood Angel unit that would be fun to see in the list.

Would it be terribly broken to give the assault formation Fearless *and* a tick of Inspiring? Something of a bonus for putting your SC into harms way, and compensating for the SC being in a pretty easily-smooshed (relatively) formation, plus giving them the bonus effectiveness befitting a veteran unit.

Kyuss, how does the Red Thirst and Lucifer Engines rules interact. If my Rhinos are 35cm away from a unit do I have a -1 to activate unless it's an engage?

They only count after the order is issued so not for red thirst measurement

took the new list out for a spin against Steve54 and his Ulthwe last night

I took

Tacticals - supreme commander, hunter, vindicator - 500
Death Company - Jump Packs, 2x Death Company Dreads - 475
Storm Ravens - 300
Scouts - 150
Scouts - 150
Devastators - 250
Strike Cruiser - 200
Storm Talons - 200
Thunderhawk - 200
Thunderhawk - 200

Steve took the following:

Guardians - 3 wraithguard
Mounted Guardians - Seer Council
Mounted Guardians
Rangers
Rangers
Falcons
Falcons
Fire Prisms
Night Spinners
Aspects (FD Exarch, FD, 4x DA)
Wraithship
Vampire

(I think that list may have too many support formations per core)

Steve won the spaceship rolloff and picked turn 1, I chose turn 2, his barrage killed a stormraven and a tactical marine, he then advanced after I marshalled and overwatched, my storm talons went on CAP and Steve moved his fire prisms up to cover the widest area, when he landed his vampire aspects on my scouts, the fire prisms shot down both storm talons as they tried to intercept :( the scouts managed to take down two stands of dire avengers but were wiped out in turn, the aspects then advanced on my tacticals. Turn two, Steve's BTS engaged my tacticals and wiped them out with help from the aspects, the death company then returned the favour and mulched Steve's BTS and killed all but a single FD from his aspect formation. My spaceship killed two guardians and my devs podded in and broke the night spinners, my second thunderhawk flew on and plinked things. Third turn, Steve won the strategy roll and wiped out my devs, the thunderhawk with assault marines failed to activate and steve claimed a 3-1 win with blitz, T&H and BTS

Thoughts

List feels perfectly competetive without being super swingy, storm ravens are pretty good, I should have played better and had a backup plan when I didnt get to alpha strike with the strike cruiser and devs :(
