Hello! Me and Norto are gathering playtests for the Deathwatch list (as you might have noticed) so this was another test of that list. I decidd to go for a "ground pounder" list (with skimmers...) and see how that worked out. Enjoy.

TURN 1: Deathwatch wins initiative.

DW: Thunderbolts ground attack manticores. 1 TB gets shot down by Hydra AA (2BM). 1 manticore is destroyed and the formation breaks.
SL: Mantocores sustains on BTS-vets killing the watchmaster (2BM).
DW: BTS-vets marshalls and moves a little.
SL: Deathstrikes sustains on vets killing a Corvus (2BM).
DW: Acolytes double towards left flank and hides behind a ruin.
SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks vets killing a Corvus (2BM).
DW: Acolytes double forward behind a central hill.
SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks for 1BM.
DW: Thunderbolts go on CAP.
SL: Thunderbolts intercept Thunderbolts for 1BM (3 jink saves made!)
DW: Veterrans doubles into forest.
SL: Shadowsword marches.
DW: Veterans doubles behind mountain.
SL: Sentinels marches forward.
DW: Veteran doubles and fires on Shadowsword for 1BM.
SL: Sentinels marches forward.
DW: Veterans doubles and fires on Shadowsword doing 2DC and breaking the formation.
SL: Reg HQ marches across the board.
DW: Spaecship activates. OB hits nothing. Pinpoint destroys broken Shadowsword. Drop pod Kills 1 stand of infantery from Mech Co (2BM), destroys broken manticores and gives BM to sentinels.
DW: veterans from drop pod retains and assaults sentinels. The wipe them out for no losses.
SL: Mech Co doubles and fires on vetrans from drop pod for 1BM.
SL: Mech Co doubles and fires on vetrans from drop pod killing 1 (3BM).

END PHASE:

Sentinels fails to rally.

Turn 2: Deathwatch wins intiative.

DW: Acolytes advance into ruins and fires on Reg HQ killing 2 chimeras (3BM).
DW. Veterans retain and engage the Reg HQ in a clipping assault killing 5 stands for the loss of 1 stand. They win the combat.
SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks veterans killing 1 Corvus (2BM).
SL: Mech Co retains and sustains on veterans in woods killing 2 stands and breaing the formation.
DW: Vetrans advance and fires on sentinels killling 2 and breaks the formation.
SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks acolytes killing 2 stands (3BM).
DW: Thunderbolt ground attacks broken BTS killing 1 stand due to BM:s.
SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks acolytes but get intercepted by thunderbolts and 1 plane gets shot down (2BM). 1 stand dies (2BM).
DW: Acolyts marshalls clearing 3 out of 5 BM:s
SL: Manticore sustains on veterans for 1BM.
DW: Same veterans marches towards SL blitz.

Turn 3: Steel Legion wins initiative.

SL: Mech Co sustains on veterans in fron of them killing a 4 stands and breaks the formation. The lonely broken Corvus flees.
SL: Thunderbolts retain with the help of the SC and ground attacks veterans killing 1 stand (2BM).
DW: Acolytes advance and fires on Mech Co claiming crossfire to lone veteran stand. 2 stands and 2 chimeras die (6BM).
DW: veterans retains aand engages sama Mech Co. Mech Co counter charges towards lone veteran stand and draws it into the combat. 5 stands of IG get killed for 1 veteran stand. They veterans wins the combat.
SL: Thunderbolts fails to activate.
DW: Acolytes doubles and fires on Reg HQ for 1BM (12 shots missing!!)
SL: Reg HQ Marshalls and moves.
DW: veterans doubles and fires on Reg HQ claiming crossfire to Acolytes. 1 chimera dies and the formation breaks.
SL: Lone Thunderbolt ground attacks veterans close to SL blitz killing 1 Corvus and 1 stand (3BM).
DW: Same Veterans Marshalls (clearing all 5BM:s) and fires on Sentinels for 1BM.
SL: Deathstrikes doubles and fires on veterans killing 1 stand (2BM).
DW: Thunderbolts ground attack broken Reg HQ. 1 plane gets shot down by Hydra AA (2BM). The Reg HQ gets wiped out and Deathwatch claims the BTS objective.
SL: Manticores sustains on acolytes killing 2 chimeras and 1 stand (4BM).
DW: Thunderbolts ground atatcks sentinels killing 1 and breaking the formation.
SL: Mech Co doubles and fires on Acolytes killing 1 chimera.
DW: BTS-veterans doubles and fires on broken Mech Co killing everuthing except the commisar stand.

END PHASE:
Sentinel fails to rally.
Lone Corvus rallies.
Sentinel rallies.
Lone commisar from Mech Co fails to rally.

SL: Thunderbolts ground attacks BTS-veterans for 1BM.
SL: Lone thunderbolt tries to retains but fails to activate.
DW: BTS-veterans engages Mech Co killing 6 stand for no losses but still looses the fight (snake eyes rolled!). The Veterans flee back to thrir blitz.
DW: veterans tries to retain but fails to activate and fires on Mech Co for 1BM.
SL: Mech Co Marshalls (clearing 2 out of 10 BM:s) and moves.
DW: Veterans doubles too claim SL blitz and fires on maticores killing 1 and breaks the formation.
SL: Thunderbolts ground atatck veterans for 1BM.
DW: Same veterans fails to activate and clears their BM:s.
SL: Sentinels advanced and fires at veterans for 1BM.
DW: Thunderbolt fails to activate.
SL: Deathstrikes fails to activate and clears their BM:s.
DW: Acolytes doubles to claim 1 T&H objective and fires on sentinel breaking it.
DW: Corvus marches to Claim T&H objective.

Deathwatch wins 2 – 0 (T&H and BTS) in Turn 4.

Yay, a win for the deathwatch! This was a very bloody battle where the IG troops got cut down in droves (as they should). This is not the optimal way of playing the list i think. There should be more usage of air assaults and planetfalls to make the deathwatch work properly.
Corvus spam didn't feel to good. Lost lots of units as always. I think the Acolytes where the heroes of this fight. Pretty good unit for 175p.
