The Epic scene here is sparse at best, but I have decided to try to convert a few new players. However, right now, all my Epic stuff is in storage.

I have decided to start with Orks vs Imperial Guard, and then add Eldar and Marines, but eBay supplies are erratic and expensive.

What are the best (if any) 'currently available at retail' sources for infantry for these four armies (to make the basic infantry stand in each case)?

Thanks.

EDIT: Also.... Tau and Tyranids?

Orks and Guard? For a consistent look of all models within one range, with variety of troop types and units for epic, I'd have to say Vanguard is the obvious choice. You can pretty much get anything and everything, in *very, very close* proxy form anyway, from the Skinners and Novan ranges. I think that just about applies to Marines, too. There have certainly been posts of 'full' Marine armies made exclusively from Vanguard/DiD stuff that looked great. I'd not be surprised if there was at least one Ork and Guard one somewhere out there too.

http://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/

If you're so inclined, you might be able to get Gothic building sprues and roads from them too, if/when they return to stock, for a more or less 'complete' one-stop epic experience.

Ditto

Vanguard
Orcs
Guard
Marines
Some Eldar

Onslaught Miniatures. (Which has its own site, or is also available on the vanguard site)
Tau
Tyranids
Marines (if you don’t mind them being female if you look REALLY REALLY close at the 6mm figs)
Guard, though not as full a range as Vanguard

Additional Question - Does anyone have the web address for Onslaught? www.onslaughtmini.com seems to be broken.

Odd, that is the correct address. He must be having some technical issues or something.

Vanguard carries the Onslaught range in the UK anyway (saves you import fees).

They also carry my plastic terrain kits. No pressure. :-p

I ordered my first Skinnerz ork proxies just the other day, along with the plastic strip infantry bases that Vanguard do. Really excited to see how they look in person.

I've wanted to make an ork army with a mixture of old GW and Vanguard models for a while.

If you want to try and play online, there's now both Tabletop Simulator and Vassal to choose from. We're a few players that play both fairly regularly.

I've started a Discord for Epic-gaming in TTS. https://discord.gg/DQRHRhv

Crusha would be a super stomper, trampler could be a mega dread. :)

Awesome. I am more about the minis personally, but I will check it out. Thanks.

So..... What are people using for a Stompa then? And what is the size different between a Stompa and Supa Stompa?... Basically, can I use the Crusher as both?..... Please? ;D

For the Dreads and Killa Kans, I was going to get a hex nut (one for a Killa Kan, two for a Dread), a set of tracks, and the arms from the CyberShadow/Ad mech guys with some guns. Add an Ork in the top hatch/hex nut hole, and done.

More questions.....

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/s ... r-leaders/ - Nobz on Bikez? Not in the current core Ork list I think.

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/s ... ecialists/ - What are people using the Skinners Commando Specialists for?

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/s ... y-battery/ - Artillery as Pusla Rokkits? Also not in the list, so what are people using the artillery for?

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/skinnerz-gunners/ - Used as sprinkles for decorations?

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/s ... nance-set/ - I am not even sure what vehicles these guns fit on

https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/small-junk-tank/ - This is the big on. I really like these Small Junk Tanks, but I cant see how or where they fit in the Ork list. How big are they, and what are they used to represent?

Thanks.

I think that especially with Orks you can't say "this model can only count as that thing and that model as this thing". Orks are very flexible in terms of modelling so you can really use most of the models freely provides they look like what they are supposed to be. For example, orks only artillery are big gunz (with oddboy upgrade) so you can really use anythibg to count as them, rokets, cannons, zapps anything, just make sure that the oddboy stands out as well, he is odd.

Regarding some of the unita you listed, Skinnerz commando work as kommandos units, as for other things, they are more of an eye candy than a specific unit in the army.

That junk tank you linked could work as a battlewagon/gunwagon or a speed freakz Trukk if it has no turret.
