Hmm, seems like true scale 6mm models work just fine next to the new Titans...

Of course … 6-8mm generally is close enough … And even the 6mm Infantry is much closer to scale with 8mm(1/200) Titans than the original 1/500 scale Titans … But saying that I'm Not going to be buying any of the new 8mm Titans. For a number of reasons ... ^-^

I've already got a total of about 25 of the old 1/500 scale Titans for all races … ;D

Glad to see it next to some 6mm. Will be interesting to see the size and price point of the warhounds, next.

What we (or maybe just me LOL)need is some cleaver member to make some rules to make the old beetle backs a variant class of knight. L4 I have close to 300 old titans of various classes but will still buy a couple of the new warlords. Some addictions are hard to break.

Or working back the other way to allowing variant Warlords in EA using the new knight models?

Regarding the new sizing, it's worth noting that the '8mm scale' idea came from an off-hand mention by the designers that a Space Marine would be 8mm tall at the scale; which means a regular human would be 6mm or so tall. There's been no scale change from old Epic models; rather a consolidation of the sizes.

^that's a good point^
Of course it's all academic until we get an actual non-titan vehicle in here

Generally an 8mm Vehicle should be close enough for the old 6mm ... Unless you see an 8mm Land Raider next to a 6mm one ... :o :-\ Then the size difference would be clearly noticable. But it is not clear if or when GW may release 8mm vehicles. I've heard this is not the direction they want to go(?). Just stick with titan & knights. But as always with GW/FW ... we'll have to wait and see ... :whistle

But I know I have no intention to buy anymore titans or vehicles [in 8mm] ... Got enough of both in 6mm ... ;D

Yeah, i saw that picture on bell of lost souls yesterday. I have to say, all of their coverage of AT reads like GW propaganda. The posts in the comments section call them out for it, but the site writers go through and try to justify the cost (the US cost, not the UK cost) by showing how everything in the box would cost more if you bought it separately, completely missing the points that [rant mode]:

1) the individual model prices are too high to begin with, because ...

2) the production cost of the models could have been lower if they had scaled them smaller (1/5 of 40k instead of 1/4 of 40k)

3) the price entry barrier is too high for most casual gamers, meaning...

4) purchasers are risking not being able to find people to play against (remember, GW buyers don’t have the same mindset as historical tabletop war gamers)

5) and remember, this game has plans for 4 model kits (not counting FW variant parts) and MAYBE a really really expensive 5th kit sometime down the road (imperator). No game with that few models will hold the market’s interest for very long.

6) finally, it’s pretty clear that GW doesn’t really plan on pushing this game for more than a few months because they just announced a new 40k box set the same day that AT went on preorder, plus they have a kill team expansion coming out soon (rogue trader, which looks cool).

As a bunch of model kits, they are cool (not the buildings, I don’t think those look very good), but as a game that you expect to find someone to play against? I don’t see it happening where I live.

And you all already know all of that. I just wanted to complain that the rain was wet.
