On a whim I had some additional art done for goblins, quite a while ago now. My current hobgoblin army I started to conceive of as a subterranean offshoot of the main goblinoids. Then I was thinking, what if there were a bunch of bigger and stronger goblins that bristled under orc rule, and went off by themselves. After natural selection and what not, you would end up with some big and strong goblins.

Hence, we have the Free Goblin Republic. The "Great Goblins" are orc sized, and can be seen below. Their "lesser" goblin allies will be 5mm tall, and quite awesome. I don't have them in hand yet, but I am using a lesser beastkin as a stand-in since they are the same exact size.

The extra trolls....well, I like trolls. And variety is the spice of life. All of these sculpts were done a pretty long while ago, didn't want to preview them till they were at least relatively close to release. All great goblins sculpted by Sean Bullough, the trolls were done by Robi Baker.

Concepts for many of the goblins were done by Christian Schwager:

Lesser Goblin renders by Andrew Barlow (should have prints in a week or so):

Cool! That giant reminds me of an 80s 28mm model I have somewhere.

Really pleased you posted these up, they look great and full of charector, looking at the wolf riders are the riders cast seperatly ? As it would be nice to be able to mount them on other stuff if given the choice.

The cad sculps for the lesser goblins look great, only thing i would of changed would of been bigger nose and ears, but they look fine.

You have my guaranteed custom with these anyway, big goblins or not i like them ;)

The only minature i am not keen on is the great goblin warrior on the right next to the orc, i,e the one holding a meat clever in both hands, his face and body stature does not fit in with the rest of the minature line. Just my 2 pence :)

Very Labyrinth looking type goblins , love em ;D

Also looking at the scales, cant see why they have to fit in with the scales of the old stuff anyway, Folks can just start a new army and use them as normal goblins, or as said use them as greater goblins if added to excisting armies from microworld fantasy.

If you look at the picture of the renassance pikeman compared to the minature on the left of it, the renasance chap brings these goblins into a correct scale imo. so folks can have the renassance fighting the goblins ;)

Also your cad sculpts for the lesser goblins will work well also for chaos nurgle stands imo ;)

Just ditch the greater goblin warrior with the dual meat clevers, he has no place in this army lol may be worth also deleting the archer on the left of the picture, his postion is th esame as the other one, and the other two sculps are better quality sculp imo. Thats 2 less minatures to mould if you look on the bright side ;D
really, really looking forward to painting these ;)

Not sure when these will be released. Still have to pay for molding for the Renaissance cav as well as Microwasteland 2 before these guys, so I would say late summer.
