Fantastic stuff - simple but very effective paint scheme! This grey gives them a very realistic touch.

I haven't had much to update here for quite a while. I've mainly been working on other projects lately, but am starting to get interested in the grey horde again.

One of the other things that I have been working on is fortifications and objectives.
I've made up these gun emplacements to represent fortified positions or bunkers, or just use as scatter terrain for a bit of atmosphere on my battlefields.
Image

They are made from spare vehicle turrets glued onto the top of zippy ties.
Linky link.

I am in the process of writing rules for fortifications that can be taken as allies, so will share those too if people are interested.

Another thing I have completed recently are objective markers for my city table. These are painted in an extremely easy to see colour scheme, that will help them to stand out from the grey on grey battlefield that I am making.
Image
Previously I was using wrecked vehicles, that got confusing, or grey bunkers with a dirty ash drybrush, that blended in well, but were easy to lose track of. These should stand out quite nicely.
Linky link.
If I decide to go back to my old objectives for whatever reason, then I can still use these as little pieces of scatter terrain on my table.

So that's it for now. Just a little update for the army.

Another terrain update for this army. I've made up some bunkers to help me out when I'm running the grey horde as Death Corps or Siege Masters.

These were fairly simple to do. I scavenged parts from disposable dust masks, and painted them up.
See here for details.

So I'm pretty right now so far as bunkers, trenches and razor wire goes. I can field most of the fortifications from both the Baran siegemasters and the Death Corps, with the notable exception of the fortified gun positins, which I have a few ideas about.

Thanks peoples.
I'm extremely "hobby budget constrained" at the moment, and I'm also quite happy to re-purpose old junk and save it from landfill if it looks the part. Those bunkers turned out okay, so tick all the right boxes for me personally.

Next up though, we have something completely different. These next models I was lucky enough to get from a certain active forum member who was unloading some of their personal stash of goodies.

Image
They have a great level of detail, and were a pleasure to paint, even with worn out old brushes and a limited set of paints (and worn out old eyes too!).

I gave them my standard paint scheme for this army, including the command squad marking on the command tank.

There are a couple more pictures here in the blog too.

The first of red company, they will be a valuable addition to the 9th Necromundan.

Fun times await :)

You can be assured that these are some very, VERY pretty tanks indeed. Suitably grimy and battle ready, not some pack of pampered parade ponies. Delightful!
