Some more random ideas. Note that I'm not suggesting the craft should be copies of these drawings, but that we could take elements from them.

What about the ships from Thor 2? (or a sleeker version of a star wars Firespray-class)

Similar in style to what malika has been posting but upright? Gives you a whole world on options then (upright ground cannons would be cool- I've seen some somewhere that would be perfect, but I cant remember from which film)

Upright would take the design away from larger scale miniature makers.

I'm also a big fan of what designs came 'before', but as you cant outright copy them flipping them up might be an idea.

Again. In the light of the humongous amount of cool similar designs already dug up by so many here. Who is talking about copying? No need to flip stuff. Again. Not like a certain company invented the look.

Great to see you back designing great models E&C!

Do you (and others) think a giant vibration weapon might be worth doing too?

Some more food for thought.

I had a few a random thoughts about Eloi designs, nodding both to past and present stuff. If I draw them up into something vaguely presentable, would you be at all interested in some prototypes and, if yes, where would you want me to send them?

Draw as in 3d models or as in sketches? I for one (can't speak for MoreDakka here) am very curious to see what you'd come up with. :)

Oh, I can barely even turn on 3d software. It's been impenetrable every time I've tried to make a start in it, which is a real shame and something I'd like to change. Alas time! No, if I draw anything, it's always in good old dead tree format done beneath a leafy not-dead tree.

Keep the vehicles' texture smooth, the more organic vibe can be painted on or check this one.

However, if you also want to go for something slightly 'clunkier', check this out.

I agree about the smooth textures, @malika2, I think that makes them more versatile for the modeller (and possibly easier to manufacture).

Perspective makes that first walker's forward leg look a little excessive :P but I like the one in the background's shapes and proportions: an interesting, spindly old-school Wraithlord look for a large walker.
