Hi chaps,

Our gaming group plays Epic on a regular basis but also has an interest
in historical gaming. As we enjoy using the Epic A rules, a suggestion
has been made that they might be suitable for 6mm WW2.

We can't be the first to have this thought and wondered if people are
aware of any work that has already been done on this ?

Our first thoughts are to retain the core rules except, perhaps, Close
Combat. The real work, however, would have to be put into the
army lists and special rules.

Cheers,

Phil

I would suggest that the steel legion list would work well as a catch all WWII army list, with minimal modification.

No deathstrikes, obviously, no valks and vultures, take the weapons off the chimeras (BMPs only came out like 15 years or so after WWII) and I'd say you are done. Everything else can be proxied away.

There's a couple of files here where people have done just that (give a search)
I'd not ditch CC mechanics. It's basically the scene from Saving Private Ryan in the upstairs room and that scene with the sticky bombs. Just very few units should be any good at it (going back to the SL comment above).

Suggestion: Resist the temptation to model airborne troops as teleporters. Crappy in practice (see the Elysian list for that and why it's not fun). Instead use the self planetfall mechanics. (obviously rename to ww2 terms as appropriate)
