Been working on the tank a bit, added another dozer blade (a variant component).

Also, been adding the HMG into a hull. Was trying to add a separate mini-turret, but it didn't feel right. The way the gun is mounted still needs a lot of tweaking, but the basic shape is there...

Thanks for the kind words guys!

A little update on my behalf then. I'm currently primarily focussing on the more 'standard' set-up regarding turrets. So your basic Imperial Army APC and its variants rather than its derivatives (support tanks, etc):

The multiple laser cannon is probably the most standard version. Turret still needs some work. The barrel itself is as good as ready.

Armed with a sort of conquest cannon this is an ancient variant of the APC and a nod to nostalgia. Will probably also make a variant with quad-autocannons (short ranged ones I'd guess) and one with multiple missiles, for nostalgia's sake. :P

The twin-linked HMG is a more standard variant for the APC, the guns still need some work, as does the turret.

Next up would be the autocannon turret and maybe a flame thrower turret (but not as intense as a heavy flame weapons of my previous versions). The hull mounted HMG is (at the moment) removable, might keep it as such to allow players to mount a flame thrower in there as well...

Splendid models, the removable hull weapon is a good idea as it will allow new weapon fits in the future.

Thanks!

Regarding the weapon, that's indeed the idea. :)

In the meantime, a random experiment: a new hull type. This isn't for an APC, not sure yet if it will be a battle tank hull or more of a 'siege platform', basically an armoured hull to mount big weapons on top of. Think of anti-aircraft missiles, siege mortars, laser destroyers, demolisher cannons, etc.

Sure thing!

The hull is still a veeeeeeeeeeery early WIP. Still in doubt whether the weapon should be mounted on its 'back' (on top) or protruding from the front of the hull.

Human model represent a 6mm infantry unit.

The current dimensions of the tank (without dozer blades) are: 21.86mm wide x 36.29mm long x 15mm tall. The dozer blade would add another 6.13mm to the length.

Ok, so I started working on the hull mounted Heavy Flamer:

And it left me wondering, why don't I also do a Heavy Flamer turret?

After that it's the Autocannon turret and then I'd consider this kit to be ready.

Next up would be the siege tank. If the design will have a turret system on its back, it will be compatible to this APC's turret system. Another thing I've been pondering about is making some sort of platform/bunker like structure on which you could mount the turrets, would be a cute little terrain piece.

Yes indeed always like the idea of a little bunker for such turrets.

Little emplacements are next, I'm kind of delving into possible sources of inspiration. I'm not sure if I should stick to an emplacement for the turret or actually design a bunker which could mount such a turret, or maybe even both. :o

Another thing I'd like to try is to design something along the lines of a 'vehicles upgrade sprue', well not an actual sprue, but just a few bits of that sprue. In other words stuff like a Hunter Killer missile(s), search lights, smoke launchers, and maybe even some pintle mounted weapons and extra armour.

In the meantime, I believe the APC is as good as ready. All it needs is a printability check before it's ready to be shipped off. (well, still need to put the parts on a sprue)

First off: I've finally finished the autocannon, please let me know what you think of it.

Attachment:
Tank 3.0 - 027b.jpg
Tank 3.0 - 027b.jpg [ 132.66 KiB | Viewed 5991 times ]

Because of the autocannon's size, I noticed that the Conqueror Cannon needed a bit of beefing up.

Tank 3.0 - 027c.jpg

And finally the HMG's and their turret have been tweaked slightly.
