Played a local tournament here in Sweden with the new DKOK a few weeks back. After three draws (2 in my favour) I managed to come 2:nd in the tournament. Pretty pleased overall and the army did not feel over powered any more. It should also be said that I definitely had some luck on my side. I used the following army list and faced Emperors Children, Dark eldar and Codex marines.

HQ with Gorgons - 600pts
Inf Co with Gorgons - 500pts
Death Rider Co. - 275 pts
Death Rider Co. - 275 pts

Death Rider Scouts - 150pts
Hydra Platforms with Trojans - 150pts
Heavy AA with Trojans - 150pts
Death Strike Silo - 200pts

Warhound - 275pts
Warhound - 275pts
Thunderbolts - 150pts

An observation I have made playing mostly Mordroten and Uvenlord is that the new DKOK struggles against armies based on war machines that are good in engagements. That mostly means Titan lists and knight lists. The infantry Co. are slower, can’t shoot and will most often loose straight engagements against those enemies. Against a regular Reaver a full DKOK company will only do about 2,5 damage, and that’s is if the power fields are already down. And they will probably take a lot more casualties back. Against equal points of knights they will be both out manoeuvred and massacred in combat.

This is not strange since they have no macro weapons and the like and since the tricks with placing the Gorgons in FF don´t really work that well against Macro and TK –weapons. And all armies do have their nemeses. A DKOK can still handle warengine walker lists if they tailor towards it but the typical mass engagements don’t work well at all. Just an observation and definitely not a complaint tough!

Thanks for posting Nick. Congratulations on coming 2nd, and it sounds like you had to work for it!

I love the fact that your army has 30 stands of Death Riders in it. That's terrific, and a big break from the 6 Gorgon Lists of 2014.

I agree about the weakness to CC War Engine lists, but the only advice I can really give is that if you have identified this is a key problem for your army, perhaps see if you can fit a Shadowsword in somewhere.

It should be said that it was a small tournament with only 8 players.

And yeah the list has some tools to handle warmachine walkers. Death strikes, Shadowswords, even bombers and tanks and Titans. But the real herath of the list, the gorgon infantry, has some trouble with them. Just something for other players to be aware of.

If anything is needed int he list it would probably be lower points or increased ability in the light atrillery and Macharius tanks. The same for the engineers - or simply dropping them (!). Thats really nit picking though...

Speaking of Death riders. I can now play with 42 of them... :-)

Does anyone know if Armyforge will be updated now that DKOK is approved?

Paper is fine but I do love how easy is to experiment, awesome piece of software.

Just to clarify what I'm seeing in the new list...

-Rough riders gained an extra regular CC attack?
-Heavy mortars / Quad launchers got a tad cheaper?
-Deathstrike silo knocked down to DC 2 ...but now can take 2 shots once? or is 1 shot per turn, 2 max?

Overall looking good!

- Grenadiers got cheaper, transported they cost the same as before as the transport got more expensive
- Engineers got cheaper
- Heavy Tank Platoon got cheaper, got a lot of options
- Light Support got cheaper as well
- Transport for Heavy Support Batteries is no longer free
- Medusa got cheaper
- Deathstrike got cheaper as well
- Hellhounds got more expansive
- Additional Infantry Platoons can no longer buy another Gorgon (so maximum is now two, was three before)
- Single additional Macharius Upgrade got cheaper
- Fire Support Battery is now six instead of four units, same price as before
- Leman Russ Vanquisher got more expensive
- Trenches now include 20cm Razorwire

- Centaur no longer slows down to 20cm when transporting guns (Note: There is a typo in the Tournament Pack, currently it can only transport units WITH Jump Packs OR Mounted, but it should be the other way round)
- Quad Launcher got FF 5+
- Medusa got twice the range, lost Macro, gained 1BP, Disrupt
- Gorgon no longer reduces its FF to 6+ when Mortars are taken; Crit kills D6 Infantry inside
- Stormsword Heavy Flamers lost IC in Firefight
- Deathstrike Silo has no longer Reinforced Armor; DC is now 2; 2 Singleshot Weapons instead of one Slow Firing; Silo got two Heavy Bolters; Crit now Auto-Hits with Macro instead on a 4+
- Hades Breaching Drill is missing (profile wise, Unit is used/needed by the Engineers)

Any movement in this? Is the DK rev2 finally approved?
Is there a plan to weaken them more? Currently the list is still, at least in my opinion, very, very strong as barely anything got nerfed.

What is the current state on this list? (weekly poke)
In October Rug said this should tops take a couple of weeks. Now its January without a word from Matt-Shadowlord, Rug or Steve54 or any other Net E:A Chair.

Care to share your opinions on this? Without either disapproving, and stating "why" or approving this list, nothing wll happen in the foreseable future.
Plus this list will not be valid during the Euros 2016, but the even better "old" version.

Weekly bump...

Would be nice if the following persons could perhaps state what they want to do and why there is still a holdup:

- Matt-Shadowlord
- Rug
- Steve54 (maybe the wrong person)

If I recall the Subchamp (Matt) has to tell the IG-Champ (Rug) that he has a list for validation and send that list to him.
Rug then sends the list to the NetEA Human Forces Chair (which is Steve, right?).
I know that this seems to be annoying, someone has made an error, somebody has forgotten to do his part in this. Whatever the reason, it would be very nice if we could just speed the process up a bit. Or get it started. All these people have been online the past weeks.
