Hi Guys

Don't know if you are aware of this product.

http://www.biostrip.co.uk/biostrip-20-p ... l-tub.html

Without doubt the best paint stripper I have ever used. Water based and none toxic so you can wash figures under a tap and not worry about melting you pipes. It doesn't smell bad, can be used inside without ventilation, wont burn your skin. Stripes plastic and metal equally well without any damage - hell it doesn't affect super glue either so your multipart figure will remain in 1 piece through out the stripping process. Found it a couple of years ago and never used anything else since.

Cheers

OK for resin? How long can you leave models in for? (I tend to forget about them for weeks...). Any problem with applying paint afterwards?

I left metal models in for weeks once (by accident :{[] ) The metal was discoloured, but otherwise fine and not a problem assuming your repainting after. Usually I leave most things overnight, and I never had any problems with anything.

I've never personally tried resin, a good friend has and experienced no problems.

I can't stress enough how impressed I was with it. I was really nervous about using a "proper" paint stripper on my precious little 6mm men, but once I tried it I was sold!

Another good thing is, that you can tap off the excess stripper back into the tube before you clean the figure under a tap and reuse it. It looks a little dirty, but still retains its stripping power. Never really counted how many figures you could do with a single tube, but I would say lots if you keep reusing as much as possible.

Found this stuff to be fantastic: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Biostrip-20-Paint-Stripper-effortlessly/dp/B00B4WK17K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429705792&sr=8-1&keywords=bio+strip

1 spoonful in a jar overnight seen the paint leech right off a metal model - have left some thickly coated plastic infantry in from last night and they haven't melted yet.

Just following up on advice posted earlier in this thread.

For anyone in the UK and Ireland at least that's been using Fairy Power Spray. I preformed an unintentional test on some plastic infantry. I had a very small itch to get back onto epic in 2012. Put together and sorted out an Eldar army. Some of which required stripping.

Well the last batch of test models were placed in a sealed jar with neat Fairy Power Spray. I opened it the other night after 'finding' the jar again.... :o So three years in the solution and it turns out it didn't damage the plastic at all.

Camera phone images below. :)

I have recently used Super Clean and I love it! These miniatures that I found in my FLGS bits box sat in their bath for only 8 hours or so. The paint was literally falling off of the miniatures.

I love this stuff! I've read that some people have forgotten about their minis for months and they were just fine when they were pulled from the Super Clean bath. It is biodegradable, smells nice, inexpensive, a nice purpley color, and works quickly.

Here is the Super Clean website that lists where you can find it in stores.

Yeah super clean is r00xors and in typical American fashion, kills everything but you know...freedom ;D
You can dump plastic into it and comeback days later and it's fine

I don't have the time to read 14 pages of posts but is this a fair summary:

Fairy power Spray
Dettol
Simple Green
Brake fluid?

Never heard of super clean though, that's a new one! Probably murderously toxic by the sounds of it though.

Yeah pretty much :)

Oh and beserk monkey had something about chucking everything in a sonic cleaner to boot. The effects seem to be about speeding up the clean and getting in the nooks.

Things as nasty as brake fluid will melt plastic. Also your face.

Fairy Power Spray is my go to at the minute, but if this new one is better I'd love to give it a whirl!

Actually, Super Clean's detergents are biodegradable, and it is also phosphate free. I purposefully searched for something approaching an environmentally friendly paint stripper and Super Clean was a good choice. It smells nice, too. Now, I'm not going to pour it on my lawn, but I won't sweat it if some goes down the drain.

If you are really concerned about it and want to compare its Safety Data Sheet with other products, you can find it on their website: http://supercleanbrands.com/products#16

Happy stripping!

Stormwind, I was almost going to purchase Fairy Power Spray! I've heard many good things about it. Then I stumbled across Super Clean.

I am cheap and I saw that I could get a gallon of Super Clean for $8, so I tried it first. It worked like a charm, so now I have my go-to stripper.
