Hi!

Trying a new format here. A few years ago when I still played WFB then I used to enjoy watching battlereports by VaulSC on youtube. He used to do them not as actual videos, but rather a bunch of still pictures with commentary. Sort of like how I usually do them here, but instead of writing stuff next to the pictures I add commentary in a video.

I played in a tournament last weekend. I chose the first game which wasn't ideal because we weren't able to finish the game due to time, but I took pictures of most activations which I forgot for the second and third game. This report is only meant as practice for future reports so I wanted to do it anyway. It was pretty clear who the victor would have been anyway.

Any and all feedback/ C&C is welcome. Is it a way of reporting you guys enjoy? Should I stick to old tried way with pictures and text here in a thread?

My self I think it was to long, I should cut down a bit of the start and perhaps talk faster. I also think I need a better mike, the sound was to low.

It was made in the simplest of ways. I just used keynote and exported the file to MPEG so all in all probably took less time then writing a report.

I realized I said one thing wrong. Towards the end I say that the super heavy tank company shot my small swarm. That was not the case. They actually assaulted my swarm.

I liked the report! Just a tad too long. If you talk a little bit faster like you said it would be great! Maybe not mention every detail in every move.

Firstly thanks for the report, as you know I am a big fan of these and your work in general.

As for the new format I don't think it's as good as your previous reports but I think it has the potential to be, with some improvement (most of which you have identified). In terms of the audio, agreed this needs to be better quality (my iPad was on full volume and I still struggled to hear). I also agree that you could speed up a little on the commentary. As for its content, I love that not only do you explain what happened but also what your hopes/reactions of that move was. Would be great if you could include your apponants hopes/reactions to. To really make these more fun you could build in a narrative. The background audio from the cat was distracting, as my dogs response ended any possibility of me hearing the audio.

As for the images, these could be of a better quality (not a major concern). Being as it was a comp I missed seeing your own terrain which is great. I would also like to see some simple graphics, such as arrows pointing from attacker to attacked, or attacked to routed position. This would help with the audio. Maybe a running total of victory points in the corner of the screen would ask help.

I look forward to seeing you do one of these on your own terrain boards with the improvements.

Thanks guys for the input. I could have killed that cat I actually had to pause several times I went back a bit and I thought I replaced it, but apparently I didn't Then when I had finished I didn't want to redo half the commentary

Lol, I got the impression the cat was in the background, but it still managed to sound louder than you, show stealer.
