I'm back – thanks to Simon and Mike for the lifts, Mike is probably in orbit around the M25 again as i type this!

Had a great day, cheers to Steve for organising and everyone on my table for helping me with rules and stats queries.

I took a number of photos, almost all of which have not come out well at all (very bad lighting at venue). Lots of people where taking photos, so hopefully someone else will have some good ones. I'll sift through mine tomorrow, but here is a quick snap from the palace gates table, just for you MoK :

First off, I would like to thank Steve for organizing the day and scenario, Apoc for his wonderful terrain and Dreamlike for providing the venue. Secondly, I’d like to thank Simon, Tom and Matt for a great game with Simon and myself defending the Palace gates and Tom and Matt providing an assaulting force which looked awesome and scared the willies out of me.

Our table was hard fought with the rebel forces flooding through the outer defences and crashing against the initial lies of defenders, guardsmen in trenches and bunkers. The first line was quickly overwhelmed, but with staunch defencing and the judicious use of counterattacking Marines and Titans the wave was held back.

At the end of turn three, over half of my forces were either dead or falling back, but no traitors had breached the inner defences.

Highlight of the battle (for me) on the command centre table

Combined assault by a daemon prince, 7 CSM, 4 havocs, 6 rhinos, 2 vindicators, 4 beasts, 4 flamers, 4 terminators+sorcerer lord and 4 land raiders supported by 7 bikes on an intermingled group of an IG tank company, SM tactical formation, IG infantry co and a Warlord titan.

28 normal hits and 3 MW from Chaos, 18 from Imperials - resulting in destroyed tacticals and lots of IG with only the warlord and a handful of russ surviving to run away

A really fun day, very glad I dragged myself out of a post-Christmas indulgence torpor and came along.

Highlight of the day for me would be my Primarch Leman Russ ripping a Warhound Titan to chunks, damaging (& breaking) another Warhound Titan in the following turn, and then spending the rest of the game winning engagements & dodging aircraft bomb attacks by Chaos forces who kept trying (and failing) to kill him.

Ordinatus Cadia claimed two kills, a Warhound Titan and a Warlord Titan.
Ok, the Warlord was unshielded with 1DC left at the time, but it's the last point of damage that counts. ;-P
