I remember Cossacks! The best part of that game was producing enough infantry to form lines and columns, etc. That and buying dozens of Cossack mercenaries to overwhelm the enemy's town :)

Cool figs.

I saw this game about a week ago and i must say that the book looks beautiful, i see big things in this companies future if they stick to this style of production. It may cost a little extra but you can see the love they put into this to make it stand out more then competitors.

Yes 42€ for a rulebook seems steep but itis a massive 405 pages! Ca 95 pages rules the rest is background information, scenarios and army lists. Full color.

Personally with all the backstory and scenarios in the book and being full color, thats a good part of what drives a companies sales. Redoing say the battle of the bulge or themopoly with scenarios around it, but also reading the backstory and getting an idea of how epic those battles where. Good business in my opinion.

Very interesting is the feature that you can play against uneven armies.

End of october/beginning november i plan to buy the rulebook and twi skirmish sets for demo games. Poland-Lithuania ist a given but what should be the second set? They all look tempting....

How about the Swedes? They would give you a little latitude for expansion against other armies.

Yes but Swedes are the typical 30 Year War/West European army. Moskow and Cossacks are tempting. Both i could field against Tartars and Osmans.

You're right, I was thinking of the War of Spanish Succession when they invaded Poland and Russia. I'm not always the bluest smurf in the tribe....
