This game looks very tempting and, keeping on topic, the price looks reasonable?

Hi!

I picked up a handful of the miniatures including some of the new stuff. I'll take some comparative pictures for the curious. :)

It's a massive saving compared to the pre-existing resin and metal starter sets (£60 for the same units as 2 starter sets, each £68), contains a rulebook (£15 by itself), contains about 1/3 of the cityscape boxset (£30) and various objective and landing zone templates (previously only available by printing a PDF and cutting out) and comes with 10 dice and a dinky l'il DZC branded tape measure.

I'm definitely ordering one and I already have the rulebook and cityscape.

It's got it's pros and cons. Beautiful, highly detailed models, but fairly expensive....... In terms of model count it doesn't capture the feel of a true mass battle game; a dozen armored vehicles, a half dozen dropships, and a few dozen troops at 1500 doesn't count.

I keep seeing this claim that DZC is expensive and I really have no idea where that impression has come from. At this point I'm fairly sure it's just internet whisper echoes repeated without any actual critical thought.

For instance, The main human tank is priced at £11 for three, roughly the same as ForgeWorld sold their 6mm vehicles at and substantially less than some Specialist games prices, and they're 10mm size rather than 6mm.

At troublemaker games we sell 6 10mm scale vehicles for £12.
It is a bit more expensive than most 10mm sci-fi.

This new set is a better price though but still expensive for infantry.
