Earlier this year I started painting up some epic armies and thought I'd share my progress.

First up are the Tyranids.

The bulk of the infantry are from Onslaught Mini's excellent 'Legion' range.

Carnifex and Hive Tyrants are from Khurasan Miniatures's, equally excellent 15mm range ("Stikk Assault Crabs" and "Space Demon Warriors" respectively).

Trygons, Heirodules and Heirophants are kit-bashed from 40k bits.

Basing is a combination of fender washers (1" and 1-1/4") for the small stuff and MDF bases (Litko, 30mm and 60mm) for the bigger stuff.

Those Onslaught bugs are great, and your conversions are top-shelf as well.

Very nice force! Almost tempted to start a grim dark aliens army now...

That's an impressive amount of green stuff on the whole army!

Really excellent nids sir i really like them. Clever conversions for the titans and other large creatures to, you must give use a tutorial on these sometime.

Great looking army.

Looks good! The Hierophant conversion, in particular, looks the part to a T, especially from the front. I had to check both two and three times before realizing they were conversions. Those Lictor talons really works well there.

Thanks for the comments, I had a lot of fun working on them and am pretty happy with how they came out. I'll see about posting my notes on the titan conversions... they were surprisingly straightforward.

Next up are the Eldar. All stock builds, no conversions... yet. Infantry are on 1" fender washers, the rest are on GW small flight bases. Color scheme is inspired by the Mymeara Craftworld from the Forgeworld book.

And now the marines. Also mostly stock builds, except for one unit from Shapeways (because *someone* discontinued the models literally the same month I decided to start the army). Chapter colors are inspired by the Minotaur chapter as featured in the Badab War Forgeworld books... though I went with a tan color (Rucksack Tan from the P3 line) instead of metallic bronze.

All very nice armies!

But the nids are especially good. The availability of the titans is one of the things that have held me back from starting one such army, but your conversions make it look really easy!

cheers
