I wanted to give my XI. Imperial tank Regiment a try
well parts of it´s 1st and 2nd battalions
It should be supported by parts of my Imperial airwing

Since we(me&me) played a attack/defense scenario
the Tau side gains 8K (2/3rds of attacker´s points)

Setup










Turn 1
The target for the IG troops was to secure the city or most of it.
The whole army charged or advanced except for the artillery company entrenched on the hill




Some battlesuits moved into cover while trying to pick up some targets
but most of them were out of range.

The Ig Aricav supported by 2 ogry det. charged fire warriors and battlesuits


2 units of Lightnings charged 4 Skyrays to take them out
the skyrays snaped on them with their missiles and managed to shoot down 1 of each formation






The Tau fire was brutal.
hammerheads , battlesuits and Tau SH tanks shoot many of the Ig tanks into pieces
sveral stands were killd by the fire warriors defense fire
but the CC went well for the Imperium
except one lightning fighter lost it´s CC against a skyray

The aircav Co suffer heavy casualties and broke followed by the 2nd Bat. Inf. CO. forcing the whole Co to fall back



Several Battelsuitse get killed in CC.
But the battle went well for the Tau until now
2 of 3 Inf Co. were broken
the Ig´s tanks suffered nearly 50% losses

Then some of the remaining IG flyers concentrate their fire on the mighty Manta
which has lost 3 of it´s 4 shields during FF

With deadly precision serveral shoots hit the bridge
one shoot opend the bridge´s armour and killed all of the crew
pilotless the mighty machiene crashed to the ground




The IG artillery sufferd some casualties from Tau gunships
and killed 2 in return






The warhound try to bring it´s inferno gun into range

No pics from Turn 2
but the Ig pushed forward to crush the Tau´s right flank
which collapsed totally
On the Tau left flank the heavily dug in battlesuits and tanks
destroyed 7 of 10 IG SH tanks
in return the IG ariforce charged more Skyrays and 2 Baracudas
which got all killed


Turn 3

The Ipmerium starts to secure left flank and middle




Maraudeur destroyers giving haevy fire support

Conclusion:

it was a very close victory for the IG
and a lot of fun

Nicely painted army. Good camo, I couldn't tell what much of it was in the 1st pictures it blended in so well. I'm useless at camo, I usually just go for plain adeptus battle grey or similar. Also, were there a lot of non GW tanks in there? I didn't recognise some of them.

Very impressive, great to see all that armour. Have you considered flocking your artillery emplacement hill? would make it blend in more.
