I really like your infantry minis great paint scheme! Only critique I could give would be to try and find a smaller grain gravel (is that the right word? I mean the small pebbles/stones on the bases) you based the units with, it looks kind of big compared to the infantry.

Nice looking Grunts !!! But I always take mine of those thick ungainly sprues ... have to cut and sand the figure bases, so they will fit in the 5 hole base, before I paint. I Sticky Tack them to the tops of old paint bottles. I really hate those thick sprues and sometimes the ankles on the figures are too thin and they have to glued back on before the painting starts ...

Yeah my tau gave me headaches, they broke a lot when I filed down the bases. But the detail on this particular "brand" is extraordinary so their worth it. I don't know if I'd have the patience to do it on a hoard army though like IG, but I'm very much tempted by the DKoK they are just wonderful!

Been a while since my last update, and there won't be any pics today, but I'm asking for advice/opinions....

I've just taken delivery of another 2 sets of Canadians and I'm wondering about rebasing from the 2p pieces onto the FOW style bases.....

I love the round bases, but unfortunately the 2p pieces are slightly too small to mount my normal sized vehicles on, and GW don't make a 50mm round base, so my super heavies either dwarf, or are dwarfed by, the two production round bases on offer.....

the rules are:
1. I don't want to mix round and square bases
2. I want to eventually base all of my army

do I go to the hassle of cutting some 30mm and 50mm round bases from steel (I work with lots of precision cutting tools so this isn't as big a problem as it may seem) or are there alternatives I'm missing?

Have you tried looking at Renedra's range of bases?

I did, and they didn't seem to have anything in the two sizes I mentioned unfortunately....

There are several different sizes of round bases that you can get, eithjer via ebay or direct from companies such as Renedra.

I picked up some 40mm round bases from ebay- these are the same size as GW use for their LOTR cavalry. I tried them with my Ork Stompas. I was concerned these were too big so I hunted down some 30mm round plastic bases. I got them from ebay a couple of days ago- just waiting for them to arrive.
