The only concern for me is dealing with the big guys with this list.

If you're going Infantry heavy then I'd commit fully to that tactic, Infantry Cos sit on objectives in cover on OW with hydra each. Having the lone AV shouldn't be a problem- either sit it behind the cover (its there for AA not OW) or hides 10cm back in the terrain so no LoS. Sentinels either screen the infantry or ring the deathstrikes+manticores if there are teleporters or air assaults. Deathstrikes deal with titans - that are the only unit that can easily move your dug in infantry. Warhounds, Stormtroopers in valkyries and reg HQ provide your offensive units and speed for getting to objectives.

Argh, the possibilities, the possibilities!!

Steve, this is a nice list, but i have no valkyries for the stormtroopers.
And it doesn´t use my fourth inf comp.

To be honest 6 hydras are in my core IG list that I invariably take (with just 1-2 formations as variety). So I take 3 hydras as upgrades to 3 company formations and 1 Flak platoon that will hang back, often near artillery.

And the 1-2 formations that I take to finish the lsit will often included one flight of Thunderbolts as well

Don't forget that hydras as well as AA also have useful AP/AT shots- they are always good in adding to the formations firepower.

I like the second better, the sentinels are handy to guard your artillery, and I don't think you need two flights of t-bolts.... they're not great at anything much, and I find mine get shot down trying to intercept on CAP, one should be useful for a sneaky ground attack here and there

I agree- Sentinels are invaluable for protecting artillery. 2nd list looks good.

Regarding your list and the possible varients, once you have decided on your core strategy and paid 60% - 75% for the formations, the remainder depend on your playing style and what you expect to fight against. Here, you have two main themes:-

Artillery
Death Strikes, Manticores and Basilisks are a subtle choice and there are pros and cons to each. Note, Death strikes are good for taking out the enemy units that can really hurt you (Titans and WE) - though they become a de-facto target for this reason and need some form of protection as a result. If they survive to fire, the vehicles make good objective grabbers late in the game because they are overlooked for more important targets.

TBolts and Scouts
Dropping the 2nd flight of TBolts for sentinals and a Hydra also has pros and cons, much depends on how you want to use either formation. Sentinals are a good screen for artillery against teleporters and air-assault (the Hydra battery may deter, but may not destroy an air-assault - especially by Marines). Ground AA can be very potent, expecially if spread around several formations to create an "umbrella". Best use is to try to provide cover for your TBolts to attack enemy ground formations.

TBolts are often shot down on CAP; they have poor armour and usually have to fly into enemy AA (ground or air) to get into position.
Remedy: *Don't* use them for CAP! They are awesome at shooting up stuff on the ground, and if intercepted by enemy aircraft, can resort to jinking to increase their save to 4+ giving them a much better chance of survival. Best use is to shoot up broken units, though a fair alternative is to prep targets for assault by one of your infantry companies.

Ultimately as dad would say; "you pays your money, and you makes your choice" - and working out your particular tactics etc is part of the fun.

Both Cadians and Krieg lists cater more to the inf heavy lists - Krieg if you like Large formations, Cadians if you can accept an initiative penalty for getting them dirt cheap ..

I used it at the "Rise of the Wolfhound" tourney in Wolfsburg last weekend.
It did fairly well, i came out as 4th of the 18 participants.

The massed infantry came as a surprise for my opponents.
But i felt that it lacked some offensive punch.
