Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll rethink it a bit.

For what it is worth, this is the list I played most recently. In spite of it not being optimized in any way, it was quite resilient in the face of a fairly brutal Eldar list. I'd continue to tweak it a bit, but it did have a certain "blunt" efficiency going for it.

Krieg:

1 Regimental HQ; Gorgon upgrade
3 Infantry Companies, 1 company with Fire Support upgrade
1 Stormsword company
1 Deathstrike Missile Silo
2 Warhounds
1 Quad launcher (4 guns) in trenches

YMMV. You can see how it played in my Black Friday batrep.

I've come back to this idea. This is similar, but tweaked in ways I think will make it better without diluting the chaos squat flavor
====

Reg HQ w/ Fire support (Commander, cadre and slaves)
Silo

Deathriders (Juggers)
Deathriders (Juggers)
Warhound (Lord of Battles)

Grenadiers (squats)
Macharius (daemon engines)

Engineer (squats)
Engineer (squats)
Tbolts
Tbolts

Should be 2975, 11 activations with 9 on the board to start, like before. Fewer points are tied up in static formations and some faster fire support so the Deathriders have better support options. Basically, it should be a bit more dynamic. SC added as well.

Strategy would be...

Blitz objective in or near appropriate cover. Silo on the Blitz, HQ in cover.

Deathriders and Warhound would be a fast wing.

Grenadiers and Macharius would be a slow wing on the other flank. Grenadiers garrison forward of the Mach. Ideally, this group would be not terribly far from the Blitz as well, but that depends on the opponents' objective placement.

Engineers would be deployed as originally noted, either picking off an outlying objective, doubling up to hit a deep, hard target or set to reinforce one of the wings.

BTS and Blitz are together (and SC as well), so the opponent has to come hard or give up the chance for 2 goals. That should go a long way towards eliminating weaknesses with respect to speed and assault focus. Meanwhile, my deepstrikes offer serious unknown threats to their backfield so they have to be concerned about committing all their forces to a hard drive towards the Blitz.

The trick will be to avoid being shot up in place or taken apart piecemeal, either of which would be facilitated by overextending the fast wing or poor choice of Tunneling targets. Artillery, expecially IC arty, will be a substantial weakness of the infantry.
--------

Better?

--------
The next 1500 would pretty much be more/heavier line formations.

Trenches for HQ
Gorgon for the Grenadiers
Second Grenadiers w/ Gorgon
Macharius company
Deathriders
Warhound/LoB
Tbolt formation
