Hi. Your auction is for 3 Dwarf Monitors (ships of the line) and two Dwarf Ironclads. As for points values, Dwarfs have roughly the same points values as everyone else. A ship of the line squadron at 150 points (3 Monitors) and a Man O' War at 150 points (Ironclad). Dwarf Dreadnoughts (a 2nd, more powerful choice) are more pricey at 200 points (putting them level with the Elf Dragonship and behind the Black Ark - 250 points) and they also have Nautilus (75 points independents). They are a nice fleet to collect though, Dwarfs having always been my favourites.
At the moment your fleet is unfortunately illegal. You need 1 ship of the line squadron (Monitors) for each of your flyers, although I think the rules read that its one per different type of flyer, so your possible single incoming squadron would do the trick. You also have far too many submarines, not only are they relatively specialised on the battlefield, they are also 1 per Man O' War. On the bright side, the Dwards were perhaps the most popular Man O' War fleer and don't require any rare mast, so should be easier than the others to collect. Just don't expect them to perform as well as ironlcads did v wooden hulled ships. Better to go by their points cost rather than history
For the basic Dwarf fleet you need to get the Man O' War rulebook and the Sea of Blood add-on for the Dreadnought and flyers (plus sea monsters!). As for sites, there aren't that many left. You could try the WPS board http://www.players-society.com/newforum ... um.php?f=9, where a few Man O' War can be found, including me. There's the supposedly good Sea of Claws group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theseaofclaws/, that I can't get into. Gandelf the Grey's site at http://www.knowltonsworld.com or this site http://www.btinternet.com/~david.manley ... nowar1.htm. Hope that helps.

Hey Krooza, right click the main rulebook and the sea of blood rulebook on my site and save as.
http://www.knowltonsworld.com
You'll find everything u need there for the Dwarves, who are are very interesting fleet to collect.
And keep in touch with Jackhammer and I, we both consider Man O War GW's best. Unfortunately GW isn't selling the achive parts anymore, so everything is going through the roof as far as prices go on Ebay.
My Ideal Dwarf fleet is:
Dreadnought Ironclad Monitor Squadron (3 Ships) Monitor Squadron (3 ships) Nautilis War Ballons (which actually suck but just look fun)
You don't need many Nautilis, as a matter of fact, I could only play two with this fleet. Actually I only have one minis o if you have that many extra I'll buy one off of you if you'd sell it.
You might also be interested in the Dark Elves too since only the Black Ark uses the masts and sails. And they would be an interesting match up. . .
See ya.

Quote (Gandalf the Grey @ 12 2004 Jan.,18:30) | War Ballons (which actually suck but just look fun) | Dwarf flyers = fun + rubbish
And this is especially true for War Balloons!

Quote (kr00za @ 12 2004 Jan.,19:30) | I noticed how expencive these models are.. damn better get some now before they rocket up even more. | Don't worry too much. UK models have always been more expensive as the Man O' War bitz archive was only available from the US after the game got discontinued.

It's strange I've got all sorts of problems with the Man O' War system, but it has that X factor that has made it my longterm favourite game over the past 10 years or so.

Krooza:
1) How did you fare in the auctions? Have you got yourself a fledgling Dwarf fleet?
2) You might be interested to know that I'm probably going to be eBaying a Man O' War rulebook (with DIY templates) sometime over the next month.
3) Are those ships still available?

Afraid I missed out on the other ships as I was out that nite. But the ships pictured in my briefcase are still up for grabs.
