Thanks man. Once I finish these guys up I'll be over half way. Four units of Spearmen, two Silver Helms, two Reavers and my characters are what remain for my 2k after this. Beyond that I'd like to do eagles and a dragon, we'll see.

The next couple of weeks will see few updates as I go into stealth mode for the EpiComp. Here's a sneak peek though. :P

Image

I got the decals on the Bolt Thrower banners this past week but didn't manage to finish up painting them. Aside from that and the grass though these guys are done.

Image

All the Chariots would have needed would have been the grass, however I dropped three of the stands while taking them out for this photoshoot. Not a whole lot of damage (one chariot needed to be reglued and a horse tail needs touch up) but still kind of upsetting.

Dave, these things look so good that I keep forgetting what scale they are... seriously impressive... makes me long for my own warmaster armies....

Thanks man. There's a surprising amount of detail on them given their size. GW's sculptors really but a lot of work into them.

Dave,

The elf war chariots looks the mutts nuts mate, really impressed with the level of painting that you have achieved with these little fellows. ;)

Regards epic

My theory is that these are in fact 28mm figures and Dave has somehow managed to triple the size of known universe. That is far more plausible than the alternative explanation that Dave has managed to paint such level of detail on WM scale figures.

Thanks guys. WI caught me, they're 28s. The "1-inch mat"'s lines are tapered, creating a cunning optical illusion. Everything else is just camera trickery.

I try to buy my WM in bulk lots as it proves to be cheaper than getting packs one-off. Even if you can't use everything you can usually turn around and sell what you don't want to cover the bigger investment. My extra Chaos stuff is proving difficult to shift however...

They were 3-ups that GW had made to make sure that they liked the paint-pot design. I picked them up as a prize at an early 90s Games Day. When I switch to CoD paints I had them print out 3x labels for me.

See! The truth always comes out in the end.

Like I said last week, very little progress on these guys (don't worry though, I'll be sure to post pics of all the 6mm stuff I'm working on once the EpiComp is over). The mail has been washed and drybrushed silver and I laid down the base for the white on the command stands and one rank-and-file strip. Hopefully I'll be able to return to these guys in early Decemeber to get them done for January.

Also, the game serving as a tray for these guys was something I picked up on eBay this past week. Very good condition too!
