A very close game that saw the Marines take BTS thanks to the Warlord but loose in points with only 1450 to the Orks' 1600. All of the Marine's formations were at half strength or less but unbroken. The only exception was the Land Speeders which were destroyed outright. The Orks lost a Great, two Lootas and had one below half strength but unbroken.

The Bommers take out two Whirlwinds and loose one of their own from a Hunter.


The Tacticals double up.


The Scouts take fire from some Lootas.


The Whirlwinds hit the Lootas and take two boyz out.


Some Lootas double up.


The Scouts double and lay a BM on the Lootas.


Another group doubles up and Zzap a Rhino.


The SC doubles and lays a BM on them.


The final group of Lootas goes on overwatch.


The Speeders double.


One of the Great doubles on the SC, taking two Marines out. The Deus Malleus doubles and strips some Power Fields.


The other Gargant doubles and takes out the SC.


The Land Raiders double and strip some Fields.

The Land Raiders sustain and the Great starts to take hits.


The Warlord doubles and hits it again.


Lootas engage the Scouts.


A Grot goes down.


The Scouts hold the line!


The Great doubles and takes out a Land Raider while hitting the Warlord with an extra template.


The Whirlwinds take out a Zzap Gun and a Boy.


The Bommers fail to activate.


The Tacticals double and lay a BM.


The Scouts engage.


Two to two.


After a second round another Scout goes down.


The Orks win, hacking down a Scout but break.


Lootas double and take out a Rhino.


The Speeders ZoC the damaged Great.


The Great engages them.


Dead Speeders.


The SC attempts to double, fails and regroups.


The Lootas remain on overwatch on the Blitz.


The Chaplain sustains on the Lootas, laying a BM.

The Whirlwinds hit the Lootas and take two out.


The Warlord retains and brings the Great down to 5DC with lots of fires.


The other Great doubles and strips the Warlord of 5 Voids.


The damaged Great engages the Deus Malleus and Land Raiders.


The Great is taken down to 1DC and the Warlord 2.


The Imperial's line falters and the damaged Great with 3 fires moves away from the other.


The Chaplain engages the Lootas.


Four go down but a Grot saves!


The Chaplain wipes them out.


Lootas double to protect a T&H.


The Tacticals double and lay a BM.


The other Lootas double and Zzap a Rhino.


The SC doubles around and breaks the Lootas in the open.


The Lootas in cover sustain and take out a Marine and a Rhino.


The Boomers come in to take out the Warlord, loose one of their own but fail to hit.

The Warlord marshals and moves away, restoring all its Voids.


The Great engages the SC.


Lots of Marines die and they break.


The Tacticals double back to hold a T&H and take out two Orks.


The Bommers come in and take out a Rhino.


The Chaplain takes fire from the Lootas. He then advances and lays a BM.


The Last group of Lootas double on the Chaplain, taking the formation to below half to win the game in points.

The 1:3 core/support ratio caught my attention. What's the reasoning there as opposed to AMTL's 1:2?

With 1:3 you'll be able to have a decent activation count based around two Gargants and what's left over won't be a push over at ~275 points a formation.
