My gaming group have been playing Epic using the Minigeddon rules as specified by
Epic Armageddon London.
We have reached a point where we're now finishing games in an evening and looking to scale up the armies sizes, but a conflict has arisen about the rules that we should play. One camp suggests keeping Minigeddon rules and omitting the 1000pt army restriction, the other objects saying that if we're >1000pt then we should be playing standard Epic Armageddon rules.
The issue we really have is due to the Minigeddon restriction on freebies (no Warlord for Orks, no Avatar for Eldar). It appears that the freebie restriction is fair for 1000pt armies, but give the the Orks and Eldar a disadvantage with larger armies.
Not surprisingly, our issue is between the Ork and Eldar gamers who want to switch to the standard Epic Armageddon rules and the Space Marine gamers who want to stick to the Minigeddon rules.
I can understand the rationale behind restricting the freebies, but the 1000pt point limit in Minigeddon appears pretty arbitrary to me.
My questions,
Are we silly for wanting to scale up Minigeddon?
At what army size can we introduce the Warlords and Avatars while still keeping things fair?
How do
you decide/agree on what should be permitted based on army size?
