No, so you need to apply 2 blast markers in a single attack on a broken space marine formation to kill one.
Also, with all these rules questions, your group seems kinda weird and remarkably bull headed considering how many rules they're applying wrong.
unfortunately there is no veteran gamer in our group. We are all beginners and are learning by reading the rules and asking here when we are confused or disagree on what they mean. We do not have anyone guiding us through the process.
