I am aware of the game. ;D My aging brain is having trouble picking out the details from the general mush in my head, though. I seem to remember it being very simplified - a rules set to sell miniatures rather than a full game. The initial rules were just a couple of pages, released with a box of 6mm tanks. I think that it is hex based, as well. I think its a passable game, if you want a quick hour or so pushing miniatures across a table, but lacks meat.

Really? From the summary sheets for Micronauts which is a free download it looks like a very complicated rules system.

Ahhh.... then.... ummm..... Maybe the rules have come on from this point, and even back then the free version was a cut down for distribution with the minis. Maybe it has been expended since then, and looking at recent web pages, it seems that it is far more detailed than it was.

The rules for Micro-armour:the game are very simple and not very engaging in my experience. Rug & Myself quickly moved on to BKC instead, which is a far fuller rules set.

Seeing the above comments however, I was only playing the free version you get in with some GHQ orders, so maybe there's a more complete version available which I've never seen!

Currently reading Micronauts: the Game. Seems to be quite complex but could be entertaining. At least there is an inherent logic to the rules :D

Well the system is a bit like 2nd edition Wh40k.

Lotsof rolls to actually do damage to the targed modified by a pletora of different modifications depending on circumstances. And a good docen of tables to roll on.

Basic scale is 1" = 1kyd (= 1000yard). Distances are measured from bridge to bridge of the ships.

To shoot at a ship first you have to "straddle" it. Youlook on a table what you have to roll on a D20 (the basic dice for this game) to straddle the target. The roll is modified by speed, heading, weather, etc.
If succesfull you roll how many shells actually hit the target which depents on the number of shells fired, the size of the guns and range.
Then you roll where you hit the targed for each shell. There you can score a critica lhit which has...yes a critical hit table :D
Then you look on a table if the distance is short enough and the shell powerful enough to penetrate the armour.
Depending on the size of the shell it does some more or less damage.

Torpedos are another kind of fish and aircrafts are a bit complicated as each turn the ships can act all the aircrafts can act 6 times.

I stand corrected. I was clearly given the baby version so as to not scramble my puny mind too fast - Fair call on Rug's part it seems! ;)

Not read Microarmour rules yet but the Micronauts rules i kind of like. Have ordered my first small fleet (IJN 1 Carrier + Planes, 1 Heavy Cruiser and 3 Destroyers) and will see how it plays :)

I have played microarmour the game, quite a few times in the past. Now, each to their own, but its not for me.

Very complicated, takes ages of sifting through various charts etc....BKC is much better.

Just my 2p.

Steve.
