I wish I'd paid attention to this forum. This post has a lot of the same changes I've wanted to make. Some of these are the same changes I proposed back before Epic A.

Probably because they are originally your ideas.

As far as hexifying E:40k, it might be advantageous to have each hex the size of the barrage template. 3" or so. Detachments could be fairly spread out, staying within 4 hexes of the HQ unit.

I spent alot of time in my wayward youth playing Squad Leader, one version which had large "deluxe" hexes. They were supposedly designed for 1/285 micro armor (as a team up with GMT) but they are a little small for that IMO being just 2.2 inches across. That game had pretty decent rules regarding what squad is in what terrain and what terrain blocks LOS.

Here's a pic. The smaller counters are 1/2"

I started out with 6" hexes, and switched to 4" for a bit more resolution. Also because there is a lot of 4" hex terrain, though I don't expect anyone else to use it. I could consider 3" if I assume detachments are going to spread out across more than one, but at the moment, I'm happy with 4". I did have to rework barrages, though.
