The worse part is when you make a mistake with the black lines, its very hard to over-paint it with the red.

A decent thin brush, understanding what pressure to apply and how it affects the bristles, very good concentration of eye sight (mine kept shifting focus occasionally) and a steady hands. I made plenty of mistakes.

Thanks for the comments.

Wow ! Very impressive - you must have hands like a surgeon !

(secretly i think you've cheated - its actually a 28mm Stormraven and you spent all that time scratch building a giant cutting mat to just make it look smaller - go on admit it ! ;-)

How did you do the intakes on the jets? I've been considering that problem myself.

A 5mm tube with a solid 2mm rod inserted inside. Followed by a .5 mm bit on the end. Then very careful painting the inside fan blades.

Ah, so the blades are just painted on, not modeled? Interesting.

I've been lurking on this forum for a while, but I had to sign up to say how cool these are! If you don't mind I'm going to have a go using these as a guide?

I've had a go at copying your design, I hope you don't mind. I've had to simplify it to bring it down from your ninja plasticard skills to my level. I think I may have shrunk it too, either that or your model has rediculously fine detail!
