TT. Just curious. Did you see that they were CC4+? That was the balancing factor for the first strike. In effect, they have less impact as Raptors have a better FF. The CC damage works out to be the same.

Knowing those tidbits, would you still take them as you did in the list you presented?

Apart from the aircraft is the debaser the only dedicated AA platform?

I never really believed that Chaos should have readily available massed AA, yet in this list, the 2 debasers in the Daemon Engine Pack are supplying 4xAA5+ which is pretty good I think - especially at 45cm range.

Even then, they can gain further 2xAA5+ for 100 points a pop + the additional shooting, FF and CC potential they also gain.

Did you have any other ideas in mind for the EC list?

No I've no particular ideas, was just list building and expected to see Oblits or similar.
I agree that Chaos should be AA light too and the debasers are very good, it just seems to mean building a defiler/debaserless force is going to take some thinking about....and testing, particularly against aircraft heavy opposition.

Well if building the World Eaters force was anything to go by (they have no ground based AA units), Chaos forces such as this can do pretty well with Hellblade fighters for their AA, as they are 3 to a forrmation, and each have 2xAA5+. So if anything, I have shown that you do not have to have ground AA troops to have an effective AA battery.

The bonus with the Hellblades, is that they can also be used for the attack runs when the opponent is light on the aircraft, and the fact that you have aircraft means that they will be more cautious and conscious of keeping within their AA umbrella - which can assist when they will need to resort to March moves to gain objectives - which you can account for.

That psychological advantage for 225 points is not the best, but it is not too bad either.

Yes I noted that they were only CC 4+, but if you stop and think about it they are close to a chaos version of Warpspiders. Yes they need to get into BtB contact, but with their movement I'd still judge them as potentially better cost wise.

I agree, there are AA options and none of these questions should be regarded as critisms, I was was just trying list build options.
I have both Hellblades and 'debasers' (actually still defilers at the mo) so it's not a problem.

Always happy to hear feedback - none is taken as criticism. It is when I hear nothing that I fear the most as then I know I have more work to do when I try to get it approved for Developmental status and all these topics are then brought up. Better now than later

Raptors? You mean Sonars right?

In any event, the list will be updated to a new version this month, so all the feedback and clarifications coming in is really going to help strengthen the list.
