Hi,
Basic n00b question here I'm sure, but I've just dug out my SM army and am in the process of updating it. I noticed for whatever reason, I haven't been particularly consistent with the make up of my squads.
For example, what would you expect to have in a Tactical squad? I seem to have 1xSgt, 7/8 marines, 2/3 heavy weapons.
What would you have for your Devastator squads?
Do you mark the bases in some way to easily distinguish them on the battlefield? I was thinking of putting a line of colour at the rear edge of the bases (using the 5x1 newer style) - red for tactical, blue for devastator.
Appreciate the help!

Most people nowadays use four marines and 1 heavy weapon per stand as tactical. Dev's have 3 marines and 2 heavy weapons. In the new SM box's you only get marines, heavy weapons and assault. No more sargents. But if you and your opponent know what is what then whatever suits your fancy. I made a poll of this subject awhile ago tho.

Tactical formations will usually be either 6 x 4 marines and a heavy, or 3 x 4 marines and a heavy and 3 x 4 marines and a sergeant Devestators are almost always 4 x 3 marines and 2 heavies.
