Here's the first Epic piece I've painted in about fifteen years. Decided to try something a bit different for the eldar, and use a muted earthy palette.



I'm going to vary the scheme across the different squadrons, so that some will have diagonal splits, some curves etc.

Very, very quick – about fifteen minutes from spray to finish! I'll probably come back to them at some point, but I'd like to get these basic painting stages done for the opening games my group is playing.

I'd dig any thoughts and critique.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the eldar off the ground – there're another eight Grav Tanks on my desk at the mo.

I've also just received a big parcel of Epic 40k stuff, so my Alpha Legion might see some emergence soon, and I've got some Edenite infantry on the way. Anyone got any clever ideas for how to build Monoliths and stuff?

Here's the quick-n-dirty scheme:
1) Halford's Grey primer
2) Dark Flesh then Space Wolves Grey in remaining areas for the basecoat.
3) Hefty wash of Devlan Mud over the whole thing.
4) Re-apply Space Wolves Grey to highlight the grey areas (I worked wet-in-wet for this) and Calthan Brown for the brown areas.
5) Edge highlight with the same colours.
6) Hawk Turquoise on cockpits, then black on details, guns, engines etc
7) Mithril Silver to pick out metallics.

Bish-bash-bosh. Done.
