Title says all.
I own the following:

*2 Chaos Titans (a Banelord and another; both similar size though)
*4 Whirlwinds
*4 land Raiders (the new type)
*The (as far as I can see) complete Space Marine boxed set with 16 Old-type Land raiders and 32 Rhino's plus a gazillion tactical marines. (on square bases)
*2 metal Chaos Predators
*5 Metal Chaos Rhino's
*1 metal Chaos Land Raider (similar to the new model but Chaotic)
*16 stocky chaos marine troopers (Nurgle?)
*8 Daemonettes
*8 Plague Bearers
*8 Chaos Terminators
*8 Bloodletters
*8 Khorne assault marines
*8 Noise marines
*7 Flamers of Tzeentch
*5 Flesh Hounds
*18 Beastmen
*16 Sorcerers (? They look like Dark Eldar though?)

Now the question; what army to build/start with if you want a Chaos (heresy era given the models I own) legion?

My aims are; fun and easy to play with and against.
Where to start?

Looks like a good start with your models. The banner on your titan looks very cool.

I can't help with the list as I don't play Chaos and know little about them. I'm sure someone will be along soon with some advice though.

Easiest choice is Black Legion. You can use almost everything there. Only Whirlwinds, Flesh Hounds, Beastmen, Sorcerors and don't make the cut. Though, counts as, allows a lot of leeway. Example, the Sorcerors could be "Counts as" Havoks. Pretty much whatever you can self-justify.

Or Red Corsairs, if you really wanted the Whirlwinds as Whirlwinds. Everything else is legitimate.

As to specific builds, I'll leave that to people who play Chaos more often to assist there.

Also note that I intend to 'swap sides' whenever necessary.
The Titans are obviously too grotesque and mutated for Loyalists but the rest could be non-traitor marines in the Heresy era just the same.

What is a good 'size' formation?
How many units/formations is decently playable at say 2500 points?
I see no AA in the Black Legion list. How does Chaos cope with Enemy Air?

Obliterators have AA on the ground. Alternatively, take some Hellblade fighters.

Totally missed the obliterator-option to use AA guns.
Mainly since I do no own any models. Were they ever made?
What would be reasonable to use the 'counts as'-rule?

The most common option is using the old plastic imperial robots - though I've also seen nice conversions using exo-armored squat torsos
