The rule says that units that spend the whole of their move on a road may add 5cms to their move.

It does not say that you add 5cms to their "speed" or "speed statistic" or "speed rating" (or any other variation thereof).

So I'd say that the specific case Chroma is talking about (A 25cm speed unit being "increased" to 30cm speed and therefore getting a 10cm countercharge) doesn't tally with how the rules are supposed to work.

So then all "slow" units on roads can counter-charge 10cm and "fast" ones can counter-charge 15cm, E&C? Those are examples of +5cm to "moves".

Have other people played that way?

I'm undecided as to whether a "countercharge move" is the same thing as a "move" (very possibly it is, I've never considered the question before).

But it is clear that "speed" and "move" are two different things, so regardless of whether or not a unit should get +5cm to their countercharge move on a road due to any other reasons, I think that the specific example/reason you noted above is not the correct interpretation of the rule.

Because "speed" is not the same as "move".
