this may (or may not, if we don't finish it) come up in a long running vassal game between TRC and myself.

It's the 3rd turn and he has an Avatar parked in front of 2 scouts (poor things) guarding my Blitz. As he'll most likely beat them to a pulp, can he then claim my Blitz, given that the Avatar will scoot off at the end of the turn? When do objectives get counted and temporary units disappear?

Unfortunately for the Eldar in this situation, "Check Victory Conditions" is the last thing you do in a turn, so the Avatar will be gone as He is removed before the end of the End Phase; He *can* be used to give the -1 to Rally to nearby enemy formations before He goes.

We decided that all special effects determinations in the end phase are done before rallying unless explicit exception is made.  The Avatar would disappear prior to rallying rolls.
