Hmmm, Yeah, I think you guys have got the painting scores about right now.

Painting to a basic standard has a huge impact but painting to a Wow standard does not make a huge difference ontop of that. Indeed you get more points for cohesive than you do for Wow in the 5 dayer.

At first sight this all looks counter-intuitive. But it's not a painting competition. The main aim is to ensure that unpainted trash doesn't turn up to the tournament, with a secondary aim to promote, reward and recognise superior painting without seriously hampering those who feel, or not interested in reaching mega high standards.

Good work!

Add in that the tournaments then have a Judges best painted award and Players choice best painted award I think we are just about in zone for painting.

I'm very happy with the painting score changes, as I'm fed up with being at a big disadvantage at tournaments just because I can't paint very well  :Ikonforums:

Has Matt put any of the photos he took at this season's events online anywhere.

No because they have players faces on and I wasn't sure if everyone wanted their picture on a public forum.

Maybe have a little form given out at a tourney saying whether or not you object to your image being used in tourney shots online?

*Playful Sarcasm On* Boo! *Off!*

Nah, in terms of rewarding good play then this all all fine by me: basic cohesive painting is what's important and I won't be losing any tournament points so there's no worry here: those of us that want rewarding for painting can still all chase after the best painted trophies :-)

I'm hoping something a bit more interesting than just "best painted" can be trialled at the Bristol event...
