Well.  We have a growing group that's meeting every other thursday at the chicago battle bunker and we're up to 8-9 regulars these days.  We're going to be running a tournament sometime after the new year.

I'll also take this chance to plug the Adepticon "Bring and Battle" for Adepticon 2010.  Since the Epic Tournament hasn't been bringing in enough players, we had 4 players last year, Hank (the Adepticon head honcho) decided to make it a half day event to see if Epic was going to be sustainable.  So at this point We're going to be running it as a bring 2000 points, play as many games as you can in 5-6 hours and then we'll have some awards set up.  Legal forces are main rulebook,  Swordwind,  stuff on the GW website, Tau,  Black Legion,  LatD,  Epic Raiders,  probably Epic Siege as well and then some of the other fan lists which I feel are the most balanced.  We have no Nid players in the Chicagoland area that I know about so we haven't gotten any playtests of the nid lists yet (though there is great concern from some of the guys about the whole "Bring back models" thing for the nid lists.)  I'm currently playing around with the Demiurg 4.0 (gotten my tail handed to me by Orks in its first game) myself.

Right now my group only meets once a month on "Club Night" at the LA Bunker. The shop hours have been cut to 2100 every night expect "Club Night" which is 0000. Use to be 0000 on all weekends. Is your Bunker like that too? "Club Night" is lame at times when I can't hear over Red shirts yelling "Waaaagh!" with little teenagers and there Apocalypse battles.

The UK is 94,000 square miles, and has 640 people per square mile.
The USA is 3,720,000 square miles, and has 80 people per square mile.

So the USA is 40x the size of the UK, and also has just 12% of the population density that the UK has... yeah I'm not surprised the US only has 3-4 tournaments per year.  :)

Finland has 130,559 square miles and has 40 people per square mile [1].

 I used to hold from two to four tournaments per year, but due to losing the main venue it has shrunk to one per year. I really should try to get a new place to hold them tournaments outside of Ropecon.

Come on, we all know everyone lives in the capitol :)

LG: When is Adepticon in 2010? I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it this year, but it is in the queue.

Also, there may be some potential for Epic at BoLSCon this year and I actually need to follow up on that.

The Epic event happens on the friday starting at 5pm officially.  I'll be running the BFG tournament (1500 points) starting at 9am the same day.

Many thanx LG!

FYI...I've contacted the BoLSCon guys to see what their level of interest is. I'll post the results.

Last year, BoLSCon was an August gig.
