Some tourny practice for Glyn

Note I have stuck 'EpicUK' in the title thread as that is where the following lists can be used. The NetEA changes are currently different.

Result turn 3, Blacklegion 3 (Defend the flag, Blitz, Take and Hold) Guard 0
(2 chimera away from BTS and they rallied to deny they shall not pass as well.)

Glyns Guard
Roll '9' for commissars
250 Warhound Titan, Commissar
250 Warhound Titan, Commissar
250 Warhound Titan, Commissar
250 Warhound Titan, Commissar
500 Mech Inf, Hydra, Ogryns, Commissar (with Ogryns) – BTS
400 Mech Inf, Hydra, Commissar
250 Inf Comp, Commissar
250 Manticores, Commissar
200 Death Strikes
150 Rough Riders, Commissar
150 Hydras

Black legion
550 2 Death Wheels
225 Decimator
300 Feral
300 Feral
300 Feral
350 Retinue + Oblit
325 5 Terminators
260 4 Terminators
245 7 Raptors
145 Forlorn rhinos

I made a slight mistake in deployment that luckily didn't affect the game, can you spot what it is? :)

End turn 1

Terminators come in, no bm's, then Guard go first. Warhound kills one, but then the hydra fail to retain and break/finish them. In return they kill the manticores, spread bm's and get chased off.

Deathstrikes killed a wheel, left mech was hit by feral and decimator, right mech hit by 2 ferals and broken.

End turn 2/start turn 3 (terminators teleport)

Assault marines kill a warhound, warhound and mech kill a feral. Assault against feral at guard blitz goes very wrong for hydra and mech.

Forlorn and feral shot up.

End turn 3

Guard go first, raptors and terminators shot up by warhounds. Terminators 1 away from breaking but still do for the infantry at the blitz.

The epicuk lists let you put commissars in titans? And you get 3 per 1000... interesting.

So do the normal rules

Expect to see them at Heavy Bolter   :)

Epic UK haven't updated IG or Chaos yet - they will be coming (+new variants) in December and June respectively. The lists used here are the 'official' lists as are, or were in the case of the BL, on the GW website.

Had a read of the book. 2d6 commissars? Is that really what gets played in tournaments? I've just been using the compendium lists, anyone know where they get their 1 per 500 and no ally formation commissar rules from?

Sorry to hijack your report chris, at least I'm reading it now though, eh? ;)

In the UK, yes.

Not sure what the French use.

There were some votes here on Tactical Command, where the online community decided that:

1 - Commissars being random made modelling your army more difficult / affected game balance at small or large point levels.

2 - Commissars are never issued to the Titan Legions in the background, so they were denied access to Commissars.

The Compendium is a collection of lists developed here on Tactical Command, and so generally use those NetEA changes.

/End of history lesson. :)

Yes Glyn wanted a practice so the lists used were teh current ones for EpicUK - which are of course the current GW online lists.

It was 2d6 commissars, Glyn just rolled 9.

Yes currently you can put them in.

Before everyone started editing the lists it was effectively marines 250 points strategy rating 5 for warhounds, and for guard 250 points, commissars, strategy rating 2.

The NetEA and EpicUK changes put marine warhounds at 275 points each.

The NetEA changes to guard bar commissars being added but keep the price at 250 (strategy rating and the fact the guard have alternatives to warhounds).

The EpicUK changes might be the same, or something else entirely, or none, everyone gets to discover what they are in December.

I believe there's currently something of a gentleman's agreement at UK tournaments to only put Commissars in Titans if you're already put them in everything else?

Many people wouldn't do it. Indeed real guardsmen don't take warhounds :) I don't mind if someone does (especially for larger reaver and warlord titans which cost the same but have a lower strat than the marines), just rationalise it as veteran princepts -  and I would recommend it if they were playing Chaos :)

Certainly if Glyn did it I would have no problems as he hasn't been to masses of tourneys yet and every little helps!

Still no-one has spotted the deployment error/cheating (not intention I swear!).

You put a blurry red blob (Feral Titan I think) inside a wood and didn't roll a dangerous terrain test for it before the game started?

You garrisoned your forlorn hope 15cm from an objective in your opponents half
