I'm sure I'll be picking up some in the future, along with other goodies. Will my beloved Khazari be getting any new hardware any time soon?

Not that I know of, but obviously the Zeus super heavy might prove and interesting proxy for certain vertically challenged armies :;):

The Zeus is a Guild weapon. However as a proxy it might be interesting for those who like to field space dwarf armies :;):

edit: Which reminds me: I need to come up woth some alternative weapon options for it. A landing pad and perhaps some kind of missile launcher system seems appropriate...

A turreted rail cannon would come in handy..

Is the Zeus going to be comparably sized with other space dwarf large vehicles?

I was thinking roughly CI sized. A bit lower but wider. But again production issues may limit the size somewhat. No point in producing such a model if material costs will make it so expensive that noone wants to buy it.  :p

As for the turreted rail cannon: how would such a thing look? Could you do a rough sketch of what you had in mind?

Not a great photo, but I've always been partial to this design (Mechwarrior CMG Regulator II).  The rail gun has a square tube for the barrel with coil wrapped rods running either side of it.  It extends past the back of the turret for maximum acceleration potential. The Turret itself is a small beveled corner square with mildly sloped sides.  Probably unmanned with just the magazine and autoloader I suppose.

The artillery turrets have been sent off for bronzing. I believe Todd Boyces schedule was packed untill mid July. Then they need to be sent back to the UK to be cast up so I expect about a month before they're ready :)

Mr. Boyce just sent word that investment casting should take place this week. Hopefully Spongor, the metal sponging monster, will not afflict our efforts.

Interesting. A turret mounted railgun may be a bit trickysince the overall design of the model (sort of catamaran style) doesn't leave an obvious position for a single turret. The best position would probably be at the rear of the vehicle but then again that's not a very good position for a direct fire weapon. I'll have to do some thinking and see wht we can come up with :)
