That reminds me, the chap with the 'Too many tanks' army did the following at the tounament:

- Broken Leman Russ Company with 3x Russ remaining takes two hits.
- Player speed-rolls, and Both fail.
- Player then removes the two Russ at the back, leaving his Fearless Commissar tank at the front still alive.

I pointed out that when speed-rolling you should remove from the front first (Which was the reason I'd come at him from that direction in the first place), and he said 'oh yeah' and took off the commissar tank too.

I completely agree wih Steve,

The army E&C keeps reffering to was the most fluffiest army at OW (even more so that E&C's). The player is a true gent and a privliage to have at tournaments.

At FSA he was the one who produced the funniest moment of the tournament (drove a Shadowsword into a piece of terrain, rolled a one and the blew it up! ... first activation). His reply was "... that could of gone better!..."  

You see tournaments do have stories and laugh's etc. The above is an example of that. Oh and the player in question has allways got top marks for sportsmanship at tournaments ... a quantitive fact that he is a sporting player (not subjective comments).

Can we please CLOSE OR MOVE THIS THREAD ... It has nothing to do with tournaments (it's a style of play), and it's turned into an thread in which some posters are attacking individuals for there style of play/ army. This doesn't make them look good, it doesn't make the UK look good (remember this is a worldwide tounament forum).

Like I've said previously; if you would like to play in a tournament within the UK visit www.epic-uk.co.uk . I can guarentee you an excellent time playing people from all different parts of the UK. However don't take my word for it, the proof is in the pudding, sign up for an event and give it ago. If you're unsure there are quite afew one day events as testers.

I deliberately held off closing the thread previously because there was some good thoughts on WAAC, and because it has been interesting to see different perceptions. If anything the last few posts have shown just how much this is "in the eye of the beholder".

Newcomers to events will often make a variety of mistakes (even experienced players do), but the sporting player will explain while the WAAC player will exploit.

I also like this definition. Tournaments are often physically and emotionally draining, but they are also stimulating and fun. If they were not enjoyable, people would not return in increasing numbers. But as Rug says, Tournaments go much further than just playing the game; they are also a forum for exchanging ideas on painting and modeling as well as strategies, tactics and army compositions. As Matt says, the UK events at least are more like a club than a competition.
