Hmmmm, might have to question such flagrant list abuse  

So, all I have to do is
- Bribe the organisers to arrange the match (probably with lots of illegal substances),
- Ply Tim with more illegal substances beforehand,
- Take a few myself to get into the mood
- Make sure no-one spoils the fun by stopping the game after 2 hours
- Swap my dice with Tim's when he is not looking
- In the 5 min warm up, remind Tim that RA means "Reduced Armour" giving the unit a -1 on saves

And then hope my tactics are up to the strain of getting my troops to behave for once

Still to much to paint, thought it was ghoing to be the warhounds which I am hoping get delivered today, but realised last night as I was boxing up the rest that I had missed half my infantry, just painted one per transport not two   So going to be painting late into the night.  To compensate I ave my secret weapon, my son wanted to come and watch so he can throw my activation dice, I've never seen anyone throw so may sixes as he does, a bit young but training him early, in any case I get a pass to go to more tournaments if I take him along so works out well.

Good luck on the painting, I have found that the young just don't know how to roll poorly, although they do get upset if you attack their favourite unit. Of course once they think that they know what they are doing all their luck is used up.

I had a great time; came joint 9th which is actually some of the best epic i've played in ages :-S!
Anyway; will be posting a report soon and just wanted to say thanks to the Vetrans for a great event and for seeing fit to give me another painting prize :-) Don't know if i'll be able to keep up though; i'm slowly losing projects to work on!

Russel really missed his SC reroll which would have really affected the game as he couldnt make a rally roll at all. Highlights (from my point of view) were assword criticalling from a vampire hit and an assault in turn 3 where 2 FD exarchs + 2 DAs with a BM assaulted the ssword co. The hope was that they would survive and bring in support from 2 falcon formations and a sserpent, as it was I scoed 7 hits- 7 kills 2 sswords dead. 1 saved hit in return, the support finished them.
5-0 to Eldar. Russel had really limited himself following his theme of all tanks and the lack of re-roll and artillery really were a huge difference

I was really on the back foot in this game, I brokethe deathstrikes first but failed to retain to do the same to the manticores who then broke a sserpent+falcons. I also overreached with the other sserpent to destroy the vultures which lost me that sserpent. This hamstrung me as it meant my 3 webway units (2 aspects+guardians) had to come out of isolated gate whem I lost 2nd(rallied) serpent at beginning of turn2. After that happened i decided to dig in for the draw - put DAs in cover on the most isolated of his objectives, and pulled my BTS back to my blitz. This game went to turn 5 with the russ co+ warhound threatening the BTS and blitz. I had to land the vampire in front of them to act as a speed bump and in the end, together with some poor roles for Mark, the guardians were to much to shift from cover.
My rare highlight in this game was when Marks mech co assaulted 3 rangers - and lost!

Something like that with various characters.
i deployed in a tight formation with rangers on OW waiting for air assaults, the lcraft assaulted a falcon formation and broke it - I then countered with the guardians. This went through 3 rounds of combat which the eldar eventually won - however the guardians were broken and then destroyed by the terminators. Who in turn were destroyed(with the thawk) by the aspects. Loosing his assault units and the thawk put Mark on the back foot and this was confirmed by my dice which were ridiculous in this game - hawks making 5/5 saves falcons doubling and hitting with everything etc

3 very enjoyable and tough games - the 2 I won really only went that downhill for my opponents in the 3rd turn
