Gah, why ask for more Marines, really? They have the most extensive and most up to date model range.

Got to be Tyranids for me, though they would need a book brought out with a token Nid Epic list to justify it (ala Tau).
They already do big Nids, so can scale down for the Heirophants, Heirodules, etc.
There is no cheap, official GW Epic Nids to compete with- it's a market waiting (well, as much as Epic can).

The same can be said of Necrons I guess, but I don't have a personal interest in them-  :vD

Resin at such small scale can be brittle, but it's better than no models...

So far I've always asked for Epic Defilers, but I suppose once O'man's Angry Iron Crab is ready that won't be so important.

The plastic Marine infantry models were being sold when ROGUE TRADER was on the shelves. They're ancient.

Indeed it won't, unless you're all fingers and thumbs at converting, and want to play at GW :)

The key here is they're still being sold, you can still buy an entire Marine army.

Not so for Nids or Necrons.

It's bad enough that Epic UK is pushing 5 different flavours of Marines as their flagship opening, I'd just prefer something new rather than different colours (and in this case updated models) of the same thing.

New stuff would be great, but tbh I can't see them even putting the marines and nids that they've already made let alone a more complete Tyranid or Necron range.
It's good to see other people stepping up and making these things available, even if currently my personal chances to use them would be few and far between...

gah.... i hated the FW Gray Knights. THey looked fantastic, but i couldn't use them at all because the weapons tended to break so easily. A real pain in the a)

bg,

Yes ... I'm very careful with my GKs, Tau & Kroot ... F/W needs to use another material for making infantry ... However, F/W's support for Epic has waned much like G/W's ... So I don't think we'll be seeing any Epic any time soon ... if ever ...

The only have one Tyranid model currently (The Harridan). The others were destroyed in a molding accident.

No doubt, we're as likely to see the harridan come back as we are the epic tank factory  :sigh:

Out of curiosity, what models were lost? I assume they were going to be released as part of IA4 as the Tau were for IA3?

A barbed Hierodule, a Scythed Hierodule, and a Hierophant. All the big creatures, only the Harridan was salvaged from the accident.

What was the accident? Did some work placement student manage to melt the rubber moulds?

They were trying out a new transparent mold material, but they hadn't tested it on Plasteline (Which the 'nids were made from).

When it contacted the Plasteline Tyranids, instead of setting as it should do, it reacted with the Plasteline and turned into a jelly-like soup partially bonded to the models beneath. Only the Harridan was salvagable.

That's just sad. And not sad in a sympathetic way.

That's quite scary, why not use a small test peice that someone hasn't spent hours working on?

Measure twice, cut once and all that....
