Turn 2
The Executor moves a single move, shoots at the Leman Russ Conquerors, killing one and dropping a load of BMs from disruption fire.  Warhound #2 picks up a BM as well.  Not wanting to lose the momentum, the Ravagers practice hit-n-run on the Conquerors, killing another and breaking the formation.  The light vehicles drop back behind the Executor – not for cover but just to maintain a good distance from the front line.

The 2nd Warhound realizes it has to make some headway so it fires at the Coterie which resides within the BoP.  Both shadowfields drop and the Archon feels a bit more exposed than he would like.

In an uncharacteristic move, the Minervans retain with the Super-heavies.  The volley is devastating and once the fields are gone, a single critical from the Stormhammer shot causes the war engine to go up in a fireball.

The damaged Syndicate limps forward and manages to drop one shield and place a BM on the Warhound.  This softens the scout war engine for the assault from the Coterie.  Archon Layr orders his troops to close combat the Warhound.  The Coterie’s and Mandrake’s unorthodox attacks overwhelm the mighty machine and topple it.  The Mandrakes are killed in the process, but the Coterie manages to consolidate back into the Barge and to safety.

The Hellions makes their escape from the Executor as well and march past the mid point of the table on the way to the blitzkrieg and the artillery.

Everyone on both sides rally except the heavily damaged syndicate.

Yes, those are stand-ins for two of the Hellion units for those of you who are shocked I don't own 27 stands of them.

Turn 3

The loan Ravager double moves toward the Minervan blitz and kills a basilisk with a lucky shot.  It breaks the formation.

The Executor attempts to retain but fails the roll.  The Supreme Commander roll is not used.  It chooses to fire on the Mechanized Infantry and by proxy the SHTs.  Two Chimeras are burned and three units of infantry are cut down.

The Stormtroopers fail their initiative, but the SC roll is not used here either.

Hellions assault the recovering Thunderer tanks.  The casualties are two dead for each side, but the Hellions win the assault and wipe the IG formation out completely.

Retaining, the Barge of Pleasure assaults again.  Archon Layr is feeling particularly bold and decides to add another Warhound titan to his list of accomplishments.  Only a single point of damage is done to the BoP.

Realizing their blitz is in trouble, the SHTs march to contest their back objective marker- nothing else can reach it at this point.  But the IG are certainly not done… They retain and the Leman Russ formation doubles, dropping a BM on the Ravagers and holding two objectives (including the Wraithgate) by stringing themselves out.

The score is Minervans 1, Dark Eldar 0.

IG rallies mechanized infantry and SHTs.  The Dark Eldar rally everything with a little help from the Archon.

Turn 4

The Imperial Guard wins the Strategy for the first time all game, and they do what they can with it.  The SHTs move and outright destroy the Hellions; none survive.

They retain and assault the Talos with the MechInf.  This would prove disastrous as they lose two infantry and two Chimeras.  The formation breaks and the Talos prevail.

Then the Minervans experience the full firepower of the Executor which kills 2 Leman Russ tanks but drops a total of five BMs because of disruption fire.
