I've been wanting one for some time to use for CAV, but keep telling myself that I'll just design a better one and cast it myself in resin.  Obviously this hasn't happened yet.

I still prefer the old Leopard/Union dropships visually.

A friend of mine showed me a Homeworld mod called Angels Fall First that has a much better dropship design... I just need to find the disk he dumped the files on.

Basic idea is a semi-armored cargo box (or an expandable cargo bay, not sure which).  I really gotta talk to O-man about 3D printer time/costs.

Heh, that picture was taken at Havoc last year.  About 5 minutes up the road from me.

It is a nice dropship. Wizkids discontinued it but I guess it's back now.  Great for CAV/tech.

Would this be of any interest to you dropshippers?

Already seen on both Starship Combat News and official BattleTech forum. But yes definitely of interest. The Union and Overlord are to me the epitome of what I think a drop ship should look like. In same vein as the separatist drop ships on Geonosis in 2nd Star Wars prequel to use an example from another setting.

I will definitely have to buy one of each. However they are still not going to be full mech scale. Big enough to look good on the table but not true 1/285 scale.

Cheers

James

IIRC they were about that....$100AUS was the damage around here, though they went crazy on EBAY for a while...and then dropped down as low as $40US.  Works well for Epic

Here's mine with some titans:

Even when I played Battletech I didn't care for the flying eggs.

because those guns are artillery pieces, throwing beyond LOS? (only thing the centerline turrets are good for on the ground, and they're marginally better in flight).

The port and starboard turrets are in a bad location, as well.  They should be on the sides of the forward hull.

But it looks cool!

The Gun turrets always annoyed me too.  They are actually "clicky based" so they record the stats of the gun turret in the game.  The guns do slide up, but that's as far as they depress....silly design really.

I wouldn't be surprised to see these make a resurgence as proxy 40K Thunderhawks....for those people that don't play at a GW venue I suppose.

I wish I had seen one go for only $40.

I have wanted one and every time I see one it goes for about $100 USD.

Flieger Korps L4 - the Big Muther in the middle was GZG IRRC ... as are the 2 in front of her. You'll notice the limited run G/W Dropship in the front left. As well as another G/W one barely visable behind the Big GZG. And then another little GZG and bitz'd out Japan Animae Gundum bird.   :ace:                                                                Oh almost forgot - a bitz'd out AMT M/Falcon ...  8v)
