640 x 480 is looking a bit small these days... how about 800 x 600 as the maximum?

I would have liked to be able to enter a model into a category 3 (battleforce) as well as category 1 (single or formation) as taking a shot of the battleforce means loosing some details to fit the whole battleforce in one shot. The reason I would want to enter part of the battleforce into category 1 is because I would want to say highlight the work I did with the commander.

Although given now that you can enter a composite picture, I probably could highlight a close up view within the Battleforce picture.

Maybe we could have a compromise like in 40K Kill Teams... each competitor can break one rule once?   :sigh: probably not making things easier. I guess this would be the only rule people would want to break.

Just to confirm however... composite shots are allowed now?

Also would definately have an open/terrain category. There's nothing better than to see a mass of tyranids swamping a lone Space Marine  :vD

Conversion category... will it be possible to post conversions individually? As if Category 1 remains as a formation entry, it'll be hard to say pick out a conversion that you included in the Battleforce. Or even if I had say a conversion of a Carnifex (as example), I would have to make this into a valid formation and enter it into category 1 before it would be entered into the Conversion competition.

For the battle force section.

what about saying the battle force must contain at least 3 formations and between 15 and 30 units, with WE counting their DC for each unit.

But this wouldn't work with NetEpic.

Well in the past Epicomps, a force could be based on any Epic Games' Lists/TO&Es - SM1, SM2, NetEpic, E40K and now Epic:A(did I miss any ?!) ... Since we are an Eclectic lot and play/follow a plethora of rules/systems ... :D

Hi all,
following consultation and after considering the prizes on offer, I have finalised the categories for EPICOMP08 - please note that there have been some major changes and a further category has been added. Details are in the posts at the start of this thread, but I have listed below the categories available:

Category 1 - Best single model
Category 2 - Best war engine/titan
Category 3 - Best Battleforce
Category 4 - Best Seeds of War formation
Category 5 – Open competition

and of course the
Conversion competition

The full list of prizes will be made available once everything is hammered into place. A VERY big thank you goes to all those who are helping out by offering prizes for EPICOMP. The list of prizegivers will be published once the prizes are allocated to the respective categories.

The categories as established are open to amendment if any errors are found - please DO point these out if there are any.
Good luck everyone.  :vD  :vD

Right, the threads are up. Strictly speaking, the competition opens at 00:00 UTS, so there's five hours to go, but I can't stay on the computer until then and won't post them early enough tomorrow, so - we're unofficially off.    :vD

I'm just this moment adding a new category - Exodus Wars - slightly late, but there's still loads of time, so go for it! Thanks for sponsoring this, Tom.  8v)  8v)  8v)

IMPORTANT - entries should be models which have been completed at least during the past year and have not been previously entered in a previous Tactical Command or Epicomms competition. forum; this is to avoid having extra exposure to some entries in contrast to others.

Seems to be a little typo here, following some editing. Just to clarify: Can models that have been finished within tha past year AND been shown on these boards be entered? It used to be like this, but the word "forum" has me a bit confused here :;):

ATTENTION! CHANGE TO PIC FORMAT!

Hi all,
in response to popular demand, the picture size has been increased to 800 x 600. This has been corrected in the rules. All current (12th October) participants will be informed directly, and can of course replace their pics.
