1st - What is the best way of repainting infantry that is already plastic glued to bases, both 20x20 and 10x40? Particularly the old Eldar guardians, I have loads of them that are rather blobbily painted when I was like 14, and have other things like wraithguards, or 5 old exarchs, on the square bases that I never painted. I am anticipating difficulties when doing these (to say the least). Is the best way just to accept that they are not going to look great, or is there a way of getting them off the bases? This leads to my second question:
Blobby painting is never going to look right unless you strip it completely. Personally, I'd rather just buy new figs, but there should be a pinned thread on stripping.
Removing figs depends on how they were glued. Superglue has weak sheer strength, so if they were superglued, you should be able to twist them to break the bond. A pair of needle-nosed pliers and a gentle touch should get them out intact.
If you used model glue, they're stuck. You can either snip them off at the feet and glue them to a flat base or cut the existing base apart. Either way is labor intensive and each has its own problems.
2nd - What is the best way of getting figures such as warlocks, farseers, etc off bases to put them in with say guardians or Exarchs with aspect warriors? Or do you just proxy so 5 farseers on one base is just one farseer stand? How about autarchs?
