DRM has a minimum of flash.
(More like there's vague mouldlines but no flash.)

90th Inf Div. WWII

The TOUGH 'OMBRES of the D-day landings and the hard fighting through Normandy hedgerows and later at Falaise to name but a few... total respect.

Yep !  You got it ! The TOUGH 'OMBRES ! Thank you, most don't remember the 90th.  I still have some of his Div. shoulder patchs ... Green square with Red Letters "T" "O" merged together.   He was awarded the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. WIA Sept. '44 at Theonville from German Mortar fire ...

I'm a bit of an armchair general and read books on WWII. I also play an excellent PC game (Battleground Western Front, Western Front and Rising Sun) that ended up attracting my attention to WWII stories and novels.

My most favourite tale was from D-Day when the troops about to embark on the landing craft are told that nine out of every ten men will be killed or injured in the first wave. One of the privates wrote...

'I looked at the five men to my right and the four to my left and thought, poor bounders...'

Now that's confidence that deserves respect.

Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart.

TOUGH 'OMBRES right enough. It doesn't just stand for Texas and Oklahoma... (or Ohio?  :vo )

It's good you like  to study history as a lot of guys no nothing about it ... I too obviously like history. Although my father didn't talk much about it, I'm sure me knowing of his service, probably had a lot of influence on me joining the Army and the Infantry.    And the "TOUGH 'OMBRES" is Texas/Oklahoma.  Even though my Dad was from Ohio, you go to the unit the Army sends you ... :D
