Thanks.
The spread-out objectives weren´t that much of a problem for the BL as the Forlorn Hopes maintained a solid grip on the farms and the central objectives throughout the game, even advancing one formation on top of the hill seperating the Eldar deploy from the farm valley.
The Eldar lacked the infantry to contest these, the Guardians were fighting for their lives on either flank and the Windriders were all drawn into the battle for the Wraithgate and ground up there.
BL actually won initiative squarely in Turn 1, but they were out of range then and it only allowed them to rush the Rangers. Also, I would rather not play any part in disembowelling a Daemon Prince of Nurgle!
We never use the Birthday rule, when we first ran into that situation years ago with my regular and only opponent back then we quickly ditched it and kept rolling dices. He´s 2 days older than me, and would go first on 363 days a year!
Flyers: They bombed&strafed the living daylights out of the unprotected Eldar on the right. Rarely I have seen aircraft having it that good... that a lone Retinue kept fighting 3 Windrider Hosts, 1 Guardian formation and the Avatar with minimal support from a mostly out-of-range Forlorn Hope, even coming close to driving them all off in T3 is a testimony to the effectiveness of tactical air ... in an ideal environment!
