I got back to this one today, after a day or two of 10mm historical and 54mm modern sculpting.
Problem was, when I picked it up and got started, I realised I really didn't like it too much. Nothing specific, but it just didn't rock my block. I know some of you really liked it, so sorry, but I'm afraid I've changed it quite a lot.
I decided what really set me off trying to sculpt a giant robot / titan was playing Adeptus Titanicus. And what I really wanted was a Mk 0 Warlord! So I pulled out WD 108 (Dec '88!) and worked from those pics. Obviously I've not gone for an exact copy - I don't want IP problems! And there's still an awful lot of work to do, but the basics are there.

Big question: Is it an improvement, or should I put it back how it was? What do you think?

I think we need to see some detail on the upper legs and that pivot point to be sure on it. I am not able to say yes or no at this point. However they both look very very cool.

I prefer the look of the first set of legs, but I like how the torso/groin area articulate in the second set, so I say go a mix if possible

I'm planning to have a set of rules in PDF format on my website for giant robot games, based partially on the original AT rules.

I'm planning to sell models to go with them, obviously. The Titan type model above is what I'm currently developing, but I'm wondering if something more 'modern' might be better. There's a sketch below (excuse the quality - drawing is not my strong point!)

If at some point in the future, you were looking to by robot / titan style models, which type would appeal more?

I'm not trying to be a goof, but the pictures appear to be roughly the same.

In general, my poor advice can be summed up as: not like Battletech. Some people like that style, but I don't.
