Yes, just the point that its always better to take the TLD over two the same (sorry I call them mono fits as only one type of weapon, I shall now call them dual fits).

Certainly changes the dynamic of arming them.

You have
275 Short ranged, Inferno and VMB
275 Medium ranged, VMB and PG
300 Long ranged, VMB/PG and TLD
350 Anti Tank, 2 TLD (More likely as 650 for 2 with TLD)

That would be 350, as there's a 25pt charge for taking two of the same weapon.

If you do bring in serious restrictions on free weapons (ie no more than 2)


I'm still unsure on whether to bring in this restriction or not.


can you bring the "Banner Pole" back for battle titans so that budget titans can still be used.

Could do.

Same effect as a Sacred Icon, takes up a carapace slot, free?

Two pieces of gear that do the same thing isn't great, can you think of any other effects it could have?

It could subtract 25pts from the cost of the titan or give it +5cm speed?


Well, I suppose you could leaverage a Titan that had 2x Inspiring by having both a Sacred Icon*** & a Banner Pole out of it, which would make one hell of an assault Titan.

I wouldn't be too adverse to having +5cm speed too, which would allow you to make a 25cm speed Reaver with a pair of Engagement-focused arm weapons, but then we are heading down the path towards hun, goth, reaver, etc again... which we've decided to avoid for the moment so as to prevent over-complexity.



*** Someone I know is converting a Sacred Icon to be a giant flag held in a Warlord's power fist, which is just cool. :)

'Sacred Icon' could even be removed from the list if the banner pole was introduced?

Not really, as a 'sacred icon' is a rather ephemeral thing.

At the moment however, I don't think it's worth introducing the banner pole... too many variables.

As Reaver Banner Poles have not been sold for what, 10? 15? years, I think Reavers with Banner Poles can probably safely remain in the collector's section (Which means you can use it in friendly games, but not the 2% of games that are played in Tournaments).


The alternative is a counts-as solution, ie: Counts-as a 'Sacred Icon', and your carapace weapon can be a Lasburner (The Titan fights all the harder in Engagements because it is inspired by the icon it carries).
