Those restrictions are totally arbitrary and pointless.

They're not arbitrary, they're a clear indication that 'carapace weapons' generally equate to the Warhound Titan's weapons set (plus a couple of others).

The 3-ML Reaver Titan from FW wouldn't even be legal.

As I noted in the original post, this is the restriction list for the WARLORD TITAN.

The Reaver titan will have other restrictions.

Knowing Jervis, he's probably concerned about making sure people feel like they can buy "stock" models and not feel like they are going to be non-competitive, i.e. he doesn't want people to feel like they have to buy all sorts of optional weapons from Forgeworld in addition to their insanely expensive basic model.

There is no 'stock' Warlord Titan model, these rules are intended to assist scratchbuilders in getting it 'right'.

IMHO some form or weapon restriction is warranted, but possibly not as they are presented here. Pehaps when holding these polls, you could add options for "no opinion" and/or "other" to allow people to give better feedback?

I believe that the AMTL v2 showed the proper way to restrict the titan quality.

This vote has nothing to do with balance (Or 'quality'), it's about whether or not to follow 40k.

The vote has not been run correctly (My fault) if I gave that impression.

I said no.  The apoc titans weapons are written with a single point cost for the whole model, so restrictions have to be in place to stop them from being overpowered.

However such restrictions are meaningless.

firstly because it is apocalypse and anything goes.

Secondly because the carapace inferno gun has a minimum range of 24" and a maximum range of 18" :p

They also make the missile lord invalid since it can only take a single MRL and a CLP.

On a parting note.  Didn't one of the titans on the front of epic:40K have four of the same weapons mounted?

Apoc titans were written with no such thing in mind... Apoc itself is not intended to be balanced. :D

I missed the point about the restrictions being Warlord-only.

Still, I don't think the 40K restrictions are appropriate in this case.

Neither do I, but I thought it best to get the vote out of the way.

Thread closed.
